A few hours went by after that embarrassing incident, and Shion was staring out the window, that conveyed both No.6 and the forest. The sun was up and high, shining down on him, with no cloud standing in its way.

Shions eyes focused on the forest, trying to imagine his dad, a man he never met, living there. He wondered how did his mother meet him, since all her life she lived in that house, that was given to her after her mothers death. He tried imagining how happy she must've been when he was alive, as nowadays she barely smiled. And when she did smile, it was fake.

Mom, I hope you're alright. He thought. After a couple of seconds, he realized, is she alright though??

He turned his head around to Nezumi, who was playing a round with his pistol on the ground right where he sat yesterday. Before, Shion was too embarrassed to talk to  him, but now he had to break that awkwardness.

"N-Nezumi, we need to go home," Nezumi's head looked up at Shion, who was still slightly embarrassed on the face. "I think you mean you need to go home. I don't have one," he said, with cold humor. "Uh, okay but I need to know if my moms okay. If they're looking for me, they will get to her too right?"

"Not necessarily. They may ask her questions, but since she doesn't know anything, she can't answer. The worse thing that'll happen to her is that she'll be under supervision 24/7." Shion moved towards Nezumi and towered over him. With a panicky voice, he said, "b-but she'll start worrying about me. She doesn't know what is happening to me.."

Nezumi sighed, and reached out towards his pocket. "Yeah she does, I have these mice, remember? I introduced you to one of them before. I sent out one of them to message her, which will arrive after she is questioned. She knows who I am, and will trust me".

Shion calmed down, as he looked at Nezumi, amazed. He was one step ahead. "Nezumi, why are you helping me like this? I'm the one who owes you a lot, and yet you help me. Why?" Shions eyes glanced curiously at his eyes, and awaited the response.

Nezumi hesitated, and scratched his head as he saw Shions desperate eyes. "True, I don't owe you anything, but I own my old one something," he looked down at the gun he held, as if it were her. "She told me to take care of you if something arose".

"Really?" Shion stared blankly into his eyes. "Why would she say so?" Nezumi placed the gun back into his messenger bag, and looked up at Shion with bored eyes. "I can't tell if you're literally stupid or what-" Shion took this to himself seriously, and conveyed it on his face, yet stayed quiet.

Nezumi stopped, realizing this and said, "okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it seriously. Anyway, I feel like first you should be asking how do I know what I know about you. Since you're not, I'll tell you anyway. Obviously, the old granny told me all that. She was friends with your dad, and felt that since she lived, she needed to do something for your mother. So there. I don't think there's anything else I can answer for you".

Shions face fell. He felt like all he said to himself about Nezumi caring for him was a lie. "What?" Nezumi said, looking at the sad puppy face Shion was making. "Don't tell me I said something wrong again. Look don't take everything so-" "its not that." Shion mumbled out, not facing him.

"What is it then?" Nezumi said irritably. Shion shook his head, and as he was about to leave towards the window, to survey the view, but instead his arm got pulled by Nezumi. As Nezumi held onto his arm, he stood up, and said, "What's wrong?" With a more delicate tone.

Shions face blushed, and he quickly hid his face by looking the other way. "Umm.." he started, "do you care about me?" The minute he said so, he looked back into Nezumi's eyes, to see how he would react, with his face still tomato red.

Nezumi stayed quiet, while staring back into Shions eyes. "The nightmares you're getting, they're about me right?" He suddenly said, with a serious tone.

"But you didn't-" "just answer the question, Shion." Shion shook his head and said, "No, I live through them as myself".

"Yeah, that's normal. Now tell me what the latest nightmare was about". Shion thought for a second, with Nezumi's stoic eyes focused on him.

"The last one was about me killing someone called Gran with a gun, and later on I got a panic attack causing everyone in my family to hate me," he said, trying to understand why Nezumi changed the subject.

"Who was in the family?" Nezumi said, even though he already got what he wanted. "Umm, mom, dad and sister," Nezumi smacked his own face with his palm, and under his breath breathed out, idiot.

He looked up at the confused Shion, and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I do somewhat care about you Shion. Now, go and look out the window some more, while I leave you here and go sort out somethings before we leave this shithole." He patted him on the shoulder, and left.

Shion, still a bit bewildered about the conversation, but he went over to the window and watched the outside world. After a couple of minutes, he saw Nezumi walking away, and stared at him before he disappeared out of sight.

Shion sighed, and looked back around at the nearly room. There was literally nothing to do in here except for sleeping and being bored.

He went over to the mattress instead, and sat down with his head in his hands. As he looked down at his lap, through his thigh gap he saw something brown and small resting there. As he moved his legs, he saw a small mouse sleeping. Luckily he didn't sit on it.

Shion decided to pick it up, and as he disrupted its sleep, it woke up and happily ran around his palm. Shion smiled at it, and petted it and played with it for the rest of the day before Nezumi came.

When the door opened this night, Shion lay down on his mattress, with the little mouse right at his cheek all snuggled up. The sun has gone down a few hours ago, and the only light source was the lamp post outside the factory, that barely gave any light into the room. When Nezumi walked in, Shion pretended to be asleep, and watched Nezumi lay his bag right beside his own 'bedding' which was just a jacket, and straight away fell asleep the minute his head hit it.

Shion noticed the blanket he covered himself last night was behind Shion, neatly folded, as if waiting to be used by him. He took the blanket, and covered Nezumi with it, making sure no part of him was cold. When he was done, Shion placed his head right back on the mattress and once again observed Nezumi.

Just like yesterday, Nezumi was asleep, yet this time he was mumbling from time to time. Sometimes he would convey a frown or scowl on his face, which made Shion smile widely.

He looks so adorable.

After a few minutes of Shion staring nonstop at at the other boy, suddenly Nezumi started shaking, a sight new to Shion. Shion himself started to worry and didn't know what to do.

Without thinking, he moved closer to Nezumi, lifted his head up and placed his arms around him, so his head lay on top of his arm. Their heads were slightly touching also. After doing so, Nezumi calmed down, and slept soundly.

Shion thought to himself, I didn't know Nezumi also has nightmares. I wonder what his are about...
