Evan's P.O.V.
I climbed out of Yvonne's car. The team usually had a dinner before meets; tonight's was held at Rachel and Leah's house. I had been reluctant to go, because of all the food temptations.

I told myself I would only have salad and water, nothing else. I followed Yvonne up the steps and into the house. Robin was leaning against the door frame to the kitchen, holding a glass of water. She waved when she saw me.

Rob had brought his speakers, and the Michael Jackson radio on Pandora was blaring. Yvonne went into the kitchen to hang out with her friend, Faith.

I waved to Robin, then went into the living room, where the rest of the guys were playing Minecraft. Rob's girlfriend was leaning against him, asleep. He was oblivious to it, and was yelling at a freshman, his name was David I think, yelling at him on how to make meat or something like that on the game.

I sat down in an armchair and watched them play. I was doing well at not eating yet. Mrs. Patrick poked her head in the room.

"Hey fellas! Dinner's ready!" They all got up and I followed, reminding myself to eat only salad.

Robin already had her food, and was sitting with Rachel and Leah. I immediately threw away the idea of sitting with her, because I had wanted to talk with her alone.

I got in line to get my food, and got only salad and fruit. I sat down in the dining room, where two tables had been set up. Rob plopped down beside me, his girlfriend tagging along, her phone out, and her fingers tapping away on the screen.

"Hey, Evan!" Rob started to cut up his spaghetti and eat it. "How's Robin?"

I shrugged. "I'm not dating her. I just met her."

"You should!" he shoved more food in his mouth. I took small bites of my lettuce, and blushed a little.

"You're seriously in love, dude." Rob stood up. "I forgot to get some bread. I'll be back, loverboy."

I quickly ate my salad, and got up when Rob came back. His girl hadn't said a word the entire time.

I went back to the kitchen to dump my extra food in the garbage. I turned to go, then saw a pizza on the counter next to the salad. I grabbed a piece, and quickly ate it before anyone could see me.

I had taught myself to eat a lot of food in a short amount of time. I grabbed another piece, and another. I had soon eaten the rest of the pizza in ten minutes. The usual thought popped in my head when I was usually done eating. I had to lose it all. I had just eaten an entire pizza.

I easily found the bathroom, and locked the door behind me. I turned on the fan and the shower to block out the noise. I got down on my knees in front of the toilet, and took a deep breath.

I stick to fingers down my throat and lost all that I had eaten. I flushed it down, then turned off the shower. I rinsed my mouth and face in the sink, and dried myself off.

I felt fresh again, clean and safe. My throat burned a little, but I was used to that. I moved to open the door, and everything spun for a minute. I clutched the doorway to steady myself. My stomach churned. I vomited. Stars burst in my eyes. I wiped my mouth. Slowly, I stood and made my way out of the bathroom. This had never happened before, but it didn't bother me.

When I opened the door, I saw Robin standing against the opposite wall, a frown on her face.

"What?" I got worried that she had heard me.

"Are you okay?" I could hear worry in her voice.

"I just ate something that didn't agree with me." I stepped out in the hall to go back to the living room, but Robin stopped me.

"Are you sure? Because I knew someone who had bu-" I stopped her.

"I'm okay, Ro--" I felt bile burning the back of my throat. I didn't make it to the toilet in time.

"Evan?" Rachel and Leah's mom came out of nowhere as I was scooting my way to the white, porcelain Niagera Falls.

"Sorry," I gasped. Robin knelt to help clean up my mess. I felt my cheeks flame. I was given a plastic bag before being led out to the front door. Robin tried to reach me, but I easily and quickly found Yvonne. "Let's go. Please. I don't feel well."

She followed me out of the house after saying good bye. She climbed into the car and I rubbed a hand over my face. Robin had almost found me out. I didn't want anyone to know. I had done it for three years, and it kept me fit. It kept other kids from teasing me.

"Are you okay, Evan?" Yvonne backed the car out of the driveway and drove down the street. I nodded.

"I'm okay. I just feel a little sick." I did.

"Will you be ready for the race tomorrow?"

"Yes. I just need sleep." I closed my eyes and leaned back in the seat. I wasn't lying about that; I was really tired, and had stayed up almost all night, studying for a history test.

But I couldn't let anyone find out about my bulimia.
