Evan's P.O.V.
I never saw Rob again after that talk we had had. It was probably for the good. I would be leaving for college tomorrow, today was a going away party Yvonne had put together. I had known about it because she wasn't able to do it herself. She had married, and was pregnant with her first child. Her husband, Daniel, worked as an engineer, twenty-four-seven, because he knew how all the machinery worked. The machines were always breaking down, which was why he rarely came home at dinner time.

"Okay, so, you have to come in when I say. Got it?" Yvonne was bustling around, telling me when to do this or that. Her burst of energy amazed me; she was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

She finally sat down for a minute. She surveyed the living room, while I tacked a small banner from the ceiling.

I heard Yvonne muttering under her breath. "Okay, table clothes, plates, cups, silverware, bowls, drinks, sandwiches, cookies..." she was checking off a list in her mind. I laughed, and she scowled.

"You made me lose where I was!" her brown eyes flashed.

I laughed again. "You were on cookies."

She nodded, and said cups again. She looked at me angrily. I lifted my hands in surrender. She scowled deeply and humphed as she passed me on the way to the kitchen.

I went to my room where everything was packed. There was an old traveling trunk that had my books, laptop, and numerous notebooks and pens. Another bag held my clothes, and a single cardboard box held my bedding. A duffel bag had my wallet, keys, phone and Bible in it.

I grabbed my phone out of the duffel bag and fell back on my bed. I decided to scroll through some of my texts to Robin. I remembered that Yvonne had wanted me to make a speech. I had fought against it, but then my dad said it would be a good idea.

I knew what I would talk about. I didn't have much time to think it through, because guests arrived, we ate, talked, anxious then my ambitious sister had me standing up in front of everyone.
I looked around at all of them before speaking, and saw my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, multiple cousins and second cousins, my dad, my sister, a few other friends from school, and my eyes landed on Ms. Iris. I smiled, then words flowed.

"I have had the pleasure of growing up and being raised by most of you. I...had a problem though, despite my success. It started my freshman year in high school, and ended my junior year. You all might have thought that I was the perfect teenager, involved in a sport, getting high grades, and so on. But I wasn't perfect. I struggled with bulimia." When I got to this, all most everyone gasped. I went on. "But I discovered a way that I could have happiness and be seen as perfect. I met Robin Halls, a Christian, who helped me stop. She also showed me Jesus. Without Him, I wouldn't be standing here right now or leaving for a university tomorrow. So, my speech is finished, but I would like a hand to go to Ms. Iris, who also helped me. Even if I only came for that one day, she still helped me. A hand for her please!" A loud round of applause sounded, and I sat down.

After the party, when everyone was leaving, people came up to me and hugged me, giving their best wishes to my traveling. Finally, everyone was gone. I sighed. Yvonne sighed too, and went back to her room to lie down.

I went to my room, which I wouldn't be in for at least for years. I looked around at it, and found emotions pushing up my throat. I swallowed them down and climbed into bed.

"Thank you God, for sending Robin. Thank you for letting her show You to me. Thank you for saving me."
