Robin's P.O.V.
I climbed on the bus in the early morning. Almost everyone was there, except a few boys and Evan and his sister. The seats soon filled up, Evan plopping down beside me since the other seats were full. He pulled down his hood and leaned his head against the seat in front of us.
I got out my Bible and started reading. I was in Proverbs at the present. The bus started its journey to our meet, and almost everyone was asleep. I watched Evan.
I remembered when I had met him, his green eyes seemed so livid and snapped at me when he talked. His hair was brown and wavy.
Last night, I remembered, I had heard him throw up. His face had showed fear when he had seen me outside the door. I hoped he didn't make himself go through that. Maybe he actually was sick, as he had chivalrously shown on the bathroom rug.
I began to wonder if he was a Christian. I decided to ask him on the way home. Since the meet was so far away, my parents weren't coming. So I would have to ride the bus home.

The race was about to start. I was running with in boy's varsity race because there was not a girl's varsity team from our school. The rest of the girls were junior varsity. Our race, for some reason, was being held last.
I got ready as the starter went out in front of all the teams. Evan did some last minute stretching. I crouched over my right foot as the starter raised the gun. Then, the race had started.
I pushed myself, and was soon in the front pack. Evan passed me, and I caught up with him easily.
I noticed his breathing was becoming irregular. Then he stopped and fell to his knees, his body convulsing as he dry heaved.
"Evan?" I helped him back to his feet. He pulled away, and stumbled back into a run. I stayed with him the whole race, and soon, we had finished.
I got my breath back easily as I walked from the finish. I saw Evan come out if the finishing chute, holding himself up by the ropes. Both of us had metaled. He collapsed on the grass.
I hurried back to him. "Are you alright?" I helped him stand up. He nodded.
"I'm fine." Evan muttered. I helped him walk back to the bus, where almost everyone was waiting. Coach Riley was talking with the driver as I helped Evan back to our seat. I pulled on my hoodie, as it was getting cold. Evan slipped into his sweats and leaned against the window. He hadn't even had any water. I handed him a bottle from my bag. He was asleep.
I sat down beside him as the bus began to move. Rob dropped a pair of headphones over his ears and fell asleep. Everyone else was doing the same. We got home around three a'clock in the afternoon. My parents were waiting for me, so I left the bus as soon as the doors opened. Evan and his sister climbed into their car and left. I sent up a prayer to help Evan.

Evan's P.O.V.
When I got home I went up to my room.
"Hey, Evan!" It was Yvonne. "Come down and have dinner!"
"I'm not hungey!" I yelled back. I lay down on my bed and pulled my phone out of my pocket. Yvonne yelled again.
"Come at sit with us at least!" I heaved myself off the bed and pushed my phone back in my pocket when it buzzed. As I walked down to the kitchen, I went into my messages.
A new number had popped up with 'Robin Halls' next to it. I creased my brow. How did she get my number? I shrugged, then clicked on the new message.
