643 Days Before

My brother laid his head down on my lap for the sixth time in ten minutes. Frankly, I didn't known what he was doing. I was hoping that he doesn't hit the deep gash on my thigh with all his moving around. Logan was kind enough to let someone drop a knife on me. Okay, maybe he didn't 'let' him drop it, but he didn't stop him either. Not only that, but I haven't seen Stevenson for quite some time. Logan got rid of him as soon as he saw that we were becoming fast friends. At least I get to see my brother all the time now. He was given permanent residence in the same cell as me since he was too busy fighting to see me and I was being too stubborn and wouldn't 'eat the sacred flesh of my brothers'.

That's what they called it. I still wasn't sure what this flesh was that they wanted me to eat, but knew that I wouldn't eat it no matter what.

Big sis, when will we be able to go home? I miss mom.

I hugged him as best I could with the chains strapping me to the wall. Charles snuggled closer to me, accidentally hitting my knife wound. A yelp escaped as I jerked my leg away from him. His head almost hit the floor before he caught himself. Blood started dripping once again into the drying pool on the floor.

I'm so sorry Lizzie. I didn't mean to hurt you. A solemn looked appeared on his face.

Through the fiery pain, I managed what I hope was a reassuring smile. From the look on his face, I don't think he believed me.

I'll be alright. You don't have to worry. It just stings a little bit. Be more careful next time, okay?

He nodded his head, a sad look still attached to his face. I pulled as close as humanly possible with these chains. We didn't need to say anything while we waited for Logan to come through the door like he always does.

We waited for what felt like hours when in reality it was only half an hour. The door opened before we were ready for him. His brown hair covered one of his hazel eyes. A deep purple bruise was starting to form under the unhidden eye. I can't really say that I felt pity for him when he is over six feet tall. Whoever hit him must have gotten it ten times as worse as he looked. He had black bags under his eyes from little sleep, and his cheeks had sunken in, giving him a haunted appearance. The faded black pants and shirts didn't help his look at all either.

"I see you have been enjoying these pleasant accommodations that we have so humbly given you." Somehow, a smirk still crept its way onto his face. My brother turned his head towards the bastard standing there.

When are you going to let my sister go? She never did anything wrong to you. Charles signed to Logan, who gladly answered back with an evil smile replacing the smirk that once adorned his face.

She will be set free when she learns to obey our orders.

Then can you at least let someone look at her leg. It hadn't stopped bleeding. Please. He whispered, tears filling his now dull green eyes.

She would have had someone to look at it by now is she would just obey orders. All she needs to do is eat the flesh of our brothers and she will be freed and have all her injuries looked at.

Why does she need to eat that? It doesn't make sense.

Logan shook his head, a sigh filling the silent room. The flesh will help her be better and stronger in every way imaginable. Lizzie needs to trust us if she wants to see the sun ever again.

I gulped loudly, trying not to show any fear for my brothers sake. Logan walked towards us, kneeling down in front of me, but still far enough away that I wouldn't be able injure him in any way. He kept his face neutral in an attempt to hide his desperation.

"What happened to your face?" I asked before I could stop myself. The longer he was in this room, the darker the bruise on his face got. A blush spread over my face as I realized what I had just said. Wait, why am I blushing? He's cute, but not blush worthy. Besides, he hurts me and I am not going to get Stockholm Syndrome. That's just stupid. I mean, like seriously, why would you ever fall in love with a kidnapper who kidnapped you and possibly will torture

"Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about, love. It's just business troubles." He smiled his sickly sweet smile as he turned towards Charles.

Do you think your sister should eat the flesh of our brothers? Then you could eat it and be set free from this aweful cell.

"Don't you even think about it. Charles will never eat it as long as tell him not to and I will never tell him to eat it until you tell us what is going on here." I hissed, knowing that even if Logan told me, I wasn't going to let Charles eat the 'flesh of my brothers'.

He smirked evilly at me. "Well in that case, you better get comfy cause its a long story." He sat on the floor directly in front of my brother and eye, smirk still plastered on his face.

"We call ourselves the Brothers of Flesh. Don't ask why we call ourselves that 'cause even I don't know, that's how long this orginazation has been going on. Every other Thursday we gather in the mess hall to have a feast on the flesh and only the flesh of our brothers. When we eat the flesh, we get powers that you would never be able to understand until you tried it. We grow stronger. We never get sick. We become smarter than an average person. There are so many things that happen to us that it woukd take forever to describe them all. Not just everyone gets accepted into our cult per say. A lot of people have tried to join, but they never make it passed the first stage." He paused to take a deep breath, but I interrupted him just as he was about to speak.

"And what exactly is the first stage?" I asked, knowing that my brother couldn't understand a word that was being spoken. I was actually glad that he was deaf and didn't know what was being said. Though, he was getting kind of good at reading lips.

"If you would just let me finish, then you would know. You gonna be quiet for more than ten seconds?" I nodded my head, wanting to hear more of the story.

"Good. Now as I was saying, the first stage is the stage you are in now. We try to get them to eat the flesh of our brothers, but they never would so we ended up killing them. The second stage is helping them get control of their powers. Once that happens, they become full members of our organization. Third stage is them being full members and they help bring in more fresh meat. And that's all the stages. Any questions?" He finally stopped talking and I have to admit that I zoned out for most of his little speech. He looked so happy so I wasn't going to change it by telling him to repeat the whole thing.

What are you guys talking about? Charles signed, making his presence known.

Nothing you need to worry about, little brother. I'm taking care of us. I signed into his hand, hoping that Logan wasn't paying a lot of attention to him.

If you say so big sis.

"Do you even have a question?" Logan said before getting up and heading to the door, not even me time to answer.

"Wait!" I called out.

He froze in the doorway. "Yes?"

"What is the flesh of our brothers?"

He smirked at me before he answered.

"Why humans flesh my love."
