658 Days Before
I don't know how many days I've been here, but what I do know is that I haven't seen my brother since they dragged him out by his hair. I still remember his fear filled face as his hair was being torn from his tiny head. Let's just say, that I haven't been a happy camper since then. I haven't been answering any other their question even though they threatened to beat me within an inch of my life. Why they haven't threatened to hurt my brother by now is beyond me.
Tears brimmed my eyes as I thought of Charles. I didn't even know if he was still alive. What if these people killed him and I wasn't there to protect him? Was his last thought that I didn't love him enough to save him? My poor baby brother. What if he was still alive, but they were torturing him? Or even worse, what if they were turning him into monsters like them?
I couldn't get what my brother last told me out of my head. Why would these people cut up a girl and put her into a fridge like she was just a piece of meat? Why would they make my brother look at that? Who knows how long he was forced to watch before he was brought to me?
A single tear escaped before I could catch it. Now my captors will see that I've cried because I can't wipe the tear stains from my face when they are still chained behind my back. A malicious laugh burst from my mouth as I realized just how stupid I was being. These men wouldn't give two shits if I was crying or not. They just want the answers to questions I don't know the answers to. They wouldn't care if they could me bleeding out. I would only be killed within a matter of moments when they realize I can't answer them, when they realize that I am just as clueless as them.
"What's got you in such a good mood?" One of my jailers, Stevenson, said from behind me. He has never stood anywhere I could see him, so I don't know for sure what he looks like, but if his voice is anything to go off of, then he is definitely the dark and dangerous type. The sound of his voice alone sent shivers down my spine. It was so deep, deeper than any man's voice that I have ever heard before. However, he actually was kind of nice to me, if you take away the fact that he never gave me any privacy when I had to go to the bathroom. Yeah, they had someone watch me as I went to the bathroom. For some reason, they seemed scared of me vanishing before their very eyes. At least three people were with every moment of the day. I never really bothered to learn their names except for Stevenson. He actually made sure I got some decent food every once and a while instead of having to just survive on the stale bread and lukewarm calcium mineral filled water.
"Oh, just thinking about how I'm going to kick their sorry butts the moment these chains come off." An evil smile crept onto my face, not that he could see it anyway.
"Well, just be fore warned. Logan said he would be stopping by later. Maybe this time he'll bring your brother for a quick visit. You did ask him last time right?" Fear paralyzed me. Logan had been the one to bring me here. It was his fault that I was stuck here, without my brother with me. If he was here, then being chained in this terrible room wouldn't be so bad. I would never ask Logan to bring him to me though. He would use that against me any way he could.
"No, I wouldn't and you know that." That spark of fear that had settled in my stomach became a sinking stone as it grew and grew. It had been growing bigger ever so slowly and nothing I did could make if shrink down to nothing once again.
"Then how are you supposed to see if your brother was still alive? He could be in the room right next to us, but you'll never know because you are too scared of him. You do know that he would never be able to hurt you right?" Stevenson's voice came from behind me and no matter how much I tried to turn in these freezing chains, I couldn't turn to sneak a peek at him.
"He might have you fooled, but I know that he would hurt me if he wanted to. He let, what's his name, knock me unconscious the last time he was here." Logan has no idea what goes through this head of mine when I see him. Fear, anger, disgust, etcetera runs through in a matter if milliseconds before out settles into strictly terror. He is, to put it simply, is a hell of a scary dude. My wrist still bears the marks from where he grabbed me the other day.
"Maybe you don't know him the way I know him. The Logan I know would never raise a hand on a girl even if he was ordered to by the General." Stevenson kept trying to reason with me, but I knew who the new Logan was. He was evil, plain and simple.
"That Logan changed a long time ago, Stevenson. I'm a new man and nothing is going to change that." A new voice was added to our little group of people. Some how, Logan managed to get into the room without either of us noticing.
"Logan, long time, no see man. What've you been up too?"
"Leave Stevenson. It's time for me to get to know Liz a little better. Wouldn't you like that my little princess?" His hand stroked my face once before pulling away when I almost managed to bite it. Little did, he know that I was terrified of being alone with him. What would stop him from killing right where I was currently chained.
"I'm not supposed to do that sir. My orders were to occupy the prisoner wherever she goes."
A sigh of relief escaped before it was smacked right out of me and replaced with a whimper as Logan smacks me across the face. The fear must have npbeen evident in my eyes as I scooted as far away from him as the chains would allow.
"Awe. Where are you going love? I'm just getting started." He took a threatening step towards me. I shut my eyes as I prepared to be hit once again.
"Stevenson, let go of me before I have you take her place." He gritted through his teeth.
"No offense sir, but I would rather take her place than let a girl get beat by a man twice her size." I must've forgotten to tell you that little fact. Logan is literally twice as me if not more since I am so short.
"Leave. Now." I heard the door open and close behind him. I was left alone with a monster.
"My little princess, dont cry. I'm here for you," came his sarcastic reply from across the room. "Now, are you ready to play a little game?"
I gulped loudly. The last time we played a game, I was given a brand on right thigh.
When I didn't answer, he stalked over to me, grabbing my face roughly. "You know, if you keep acting like his then you'll lose our game really fast. And this time you really don't want to lose." He let go and walked over to the door.
"You wouldn't want anything to happen to your brother no would you? The mute little bastard doesn't play games any better than you." He opened the door just big enough for Charles to fit through before he slammed the door shut and dragged him over to me.
My breath was forced out of my lungs when my brother landed on me. The cuts on my wrists broke back open, allowing more blood to escape my already weak body.
Are you okay big sis? Logan keeps signing that you are being hurt really badly.
Logan knows how to sign? I ask quickly, hoping that he wouldn't be able to understand what I was saying.
"Of course I know how to. My neice is mute too. So we've been getting to know each other real well."
Damnit.
"You leave my brother alone." I hiss, hoping to come off as threatening to him.
"Don't be like that my princess. Your brother and I have been getting to know each real well. Did you know that he likes it when you rub a sting away? Say I was to hit him with my belt, he doesn't like that at all, but he likes it when you rub the sting to make it go away. Kinky I know." I lunged at hit, forgetting for a moment that there was no way that I would be to touch him.
He hit my brother. He hit him with a belt. Charles has never been hit by anything before. Maybe, he got his hand slapped if he got caught taking cookies off the cooling racks, but nothing beyond that. My whole family loved my brother and we protected him as best we could.
Did he hit you, little brother? I signed into his hand, using the words that we had come up with on our own. If Logan knew ign language then we needed to use our special language as much as possible without him learning what we were saying.
No, but he tried to. He only stopped because I told him he was dead if he so much as laid a hand on me. I told him that you would rather die then let someone hurt me.
If he ever tries again, I want you to tell me as soon as you can okay? I love you too much for you to be hurt again.
"Isn't this sweet? Why don't we get this party started now shall we?"
