I Hate My Job

The shop was empty one day, and full the next, as if by some sort of magic. But Stella was nowhere to be seen. Bob and Linda were surprised that the bakery had been set up so quickly, everything from the the walls being painted, to a new sign out front.

"Maybe she just hired a really good contractor". Linda said while wiping down the counters of in the kitchen. 

Bob was cooking pancakes "Mr.Fischoeder is usually in charge of that kind of stuff, and even so I don't think it's possible for things to get done that fast." Bob said, he hadn't spoke to Stella but seeing her was enough to know she was...odd. Tina wiped the menu's as she eavesdropped on her parent's conversation, listening to every word. They were now going on about how strange Stella had looked. 

"I liked her style! It was fun, she does what she wants!" Linda said. "May be you should wear something like that on your date Tina!"

"EEeeeehhhhh that's okay mom but I think I'll to my own style." Tina said.

"Oh yeah I'm sure Josh will love the nerd girl meets sectary look." Louise rolled her eyes as she said it, sarcastically. 

"Louise you be nice!" Linda said aggressively. Tina ignored them, she had other things on her mind, and for once boys was not one of them. She needed to talk to Stella, and all she could do was hope that she would be there today. Gene, Louise and Tina left for school, walking by the new bakery next door. Gene pressed himself up against the window.

"They have cinnamon rolls!" He exclaimed.

"Gene we just had pancakes". Louise said. "Besides cinnamon rolls aren't-oh my god they have cream-puffs!" Louise joined Gene by the window. Tina looked into the bakery, the walls were painted a light brown, there was a wooded counter with glass cases displaying bread, bagels, and pastries, and then Tina saw her. Behind the counter was Stella, her long white hair done up in a ponytail, she still wore all white cloths, except for a light blue apron.

 "Oh look....uuuuuhhhhhh bread, I'm going to go see how much it costs! See you guys later!" Tina quickly ran into the store.

"Okay but it's not our fault if your late again!" Louise yelled to her sister, as she and Gene made their way to school.Stella looked up to see Tina enter the store. 

"I thought I would be seeing you again." She smiled, it was a perfect smile, one Tina envied."Stella! The pen you gave me! It-the-there was a light glow thing! There was a bossy unicorn! A-And D.N's, and Cupcakes!" Tina rambled on, stumbling over her own words.

 "I take it you met Amare than." She put down a blue pen on the counter, Tina hadn't even noticed she was writing something down.

"Uh y-yeah, he said I was the next 'Guardian Romance', and something about a queen?" Tina had so many questions but none made it to her mouth, it was like an overload.

Stella let out a long sigh, and her tone changed. "My favorite part of the job: explaining." She said sarcastically. "Long ago my kingdom was ruled by two sisters, Spero and Arine, the kingdom ran on and existed because of imaginations, dreams, all that stuff and so on. Because of this we relied on human's and their fantasies. However Queen Arine believed that there was an easier way...to forcefully take fantasies from humans. She created-."

"The dark Nightmares!" Tina exclaimed. "I fought one!"

"That's great but who's telling the story?"

"Oh-uh sorry I'll stop talking..now...now...okay now I'll stop talking." Tina remained silent. Stella continued. 

"Arine released them onto the world without telling anyone, shortly after she was banished by her sister for the awful deed she had done. With the Dark Nightmare's unleashed upon the earth Queen Spero gave three women powers to rid the world of them: Guardian Beauty, Guardian Power, and Guardian Romance. They successfully got rid of the Dark Nightmares...but every hundred years or so they return. Sometimes in big cities, other times in places like these. It's my job to find new girls to take over as the 'Guardians of Fantasies'.
