~Riley's pov~
"Of course you didn't think that would happen! Did you even think at all?! Maya you can't just do things like that!" I say angrily as I get up, walking away, bumping into Maya as I pass her. I quickly wipe the tears from my eyes as I leave the locker room, going into the gym. I see everyone's doing jumping jacks. You can leave me out of that. I walk passed everyone, walking to the coach. He soon stops everyone from doing jumping jacks. "Yes, Ms. Matthews?.." He asks with a hint of attitude. "Uhm.. Can I go talk to Mr. Matthews?.." I ask, my voice shaky. He puts his hands on his hips. "What for?" "I.. Need to go home.. Don't feel well.." I say quietly, hoping he doesn't see through my lie. "You look fine. Get next to Friar and go do the jumping jacks!"

I look around, not knowing who he is. "Uhmm.. Who's.." I don't have to finish before he points at him. "Get next to him Matthews. I'll get you a perminant spot later." It's the guy that said- "NOW MATTHEWS!" He yells at me, causing me to quickly back down, scurrying over to him like a scared mouse.

"Hey." He says, but I ignore him. "Hey." He says this time, sounding a little more aggressive than before. The coach blows the whistle, as to say to start the jumping jacks once again. I do the jumping jacks along with everyone else. "Get dressed!" He yells soon enough. As I'm walking, I feel a hand on my shoulder, I quickly yank my shoulder away, spinning around to be face to face with Friar. "Leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for your two cents." He quickly puts his hand in his pocket. "Sorry 'bout that." I look at him confused. "Were you actually going to give me two cents?" I questioned. He smiles slightly. "Yeah. But I wanted to talk to you. I'm sorry about earlier. I just wanted an excuse to talk to you. Didn't think you'd react the way you did." He says as his hand reaches the back of his neck.

I look at him for a second, contemplating whether or not if I should allow us to talk. "Yeah okay. I'm not buying it but I'll talk to you." He smiles wide. "Sweet. I gotta get dressed. Talk to you later?" I smile slightly. "Definitly." We part ways, going to the seperate locker rooms. I get into the locker rooms, only to be pinned against the wall by Maya.

"What the fuck was that?! Why were you talking to him?" She asks angrily. "I can talk to whoever I want. Sorry it's not you." She walks away, putting her forefinger and thumb on her temple. "Riley, please. Listen to me. You can't trust him. He's just a player. He'll lure you in with his shitty country charm then break your heart." I sigh deeply. "Maya you're just jealous that I'm talking to him now instead of you." She looks at me, a fire in her eyes. "I am jealous! But that doesn't mean I don't-" she quickly stops herself in her tracks, making me confused. "Don't what?" I ask, my curiosity peaked. "It- it doesn't matter! Forget I said anything. But when-" "if!" I speak up. "When he hurts you, I'll be here. Waiting for you to have a shoulder to cry on."

I quickly walk passed her, going to the stall I was in before, changing. I leave the locker room, seeing Maya talking to another girl. That kills me, but I don't let it show. I look down, not wanting to listen to what they're saying, leaving the locker room. I'm going home. I don't care. I just- "Matthews." Friar says to me. I should really find out his first name. "Friar." I reply. "Where are you going?" He questions as he wraps his arm around me. "Home." I say as I walk forward, getting his arm off of me. "What for?" He ask, putting his hand on my shoulder. I turn around, only to see Maya looking our way. "Because I don't feel well." I lied. He once again wraps his arm around me. "I hope you feel better then." He says as he kisses my cheek gently.

I force a smile, looking behind me, not seeing Maya in sight. I sigh deeply as I go to my dad's classroom. "I need to go home.." I tell him. He looks over at me. "Riley, I'm in the middle of a class." Shit. I forgot. "I'm sorry but I need to go home.." I say quietly. "Did something else happen with Maya?" He questioned. My eyes widen as my cheeks heat up with hearing her name. "Uhh.. N-no! Nothing with Maya.. Jus.. Don't feel well.." I told him. I suppose it could be believeable because I feel like I'm about to throw up. He sighs deeply. "All right. Go home. Get some rest. You're not doing this tomorrow." He says sternly. I try not to smile, but I know I fail. "Okay! Thank you! Bye!" I say as I quickly leave the room, driving back home.
