~Topanga's pov~
I decide to call Riley so I can talk to her about all of this in person. She's going to be very upset but she has the right to know. I call her the next morning, awaiting an answer. "Hey it's Riley! Sorry I-" I hangup, sighing deeply, feeling annoyed.

Why won't you answer? I call her once more, this time she answers on the third ring. "Hello?.." She says, sleep still deep in her voice. "Hey Riley. Can you come home? I want to talk to you."

"But I am home." Hearing those words causes my heart to immedietly shatter. I suck is up, taking a deep breath. "Well then, come over. I have to talk to you." I hear a long sigh on the other end as I hear Maya's voice chime in. "Riles you woke me up. Who are you talking to?"

"My mom." She replies.

"Ugh! Why? She obviously doesn't want you with me." Maya tells her, annoyance evident in her tone. "She told me to come over there." I hear Riley muffled. Her hand must be on the speaker now.

"No. You're not going." Maya says sternly. It's getting hard to hear now.

"But she still is my mom, Maya." A long pause. "Fine. But I'm coming."

My eyes widen as I gasp slightly. "Okay mom. I'll be right over." She hangs up. I sigh deeply.

"It's really not why you think.." I say aloud to myself. "I'm not the bad guy.."

I'm sitting on the couch, when I hear through the speaker, "aye. We're here. Open up." Maya says as I get up, opening the door.

"Oh, hey Maya.." I say hesitantly. "What?" She starts, "did you not want me here?" She asks coldly.

"I just wanted to talk to Riley about something.."

"What about?" She quickly asks.

"About you two. It's not that I don't like you, there's so much more to the story than you know, Maya."

She takes a step towards me. "Oh really? Like what?" She questions, anger evident in her tone.

"That you two are sisters!" I practically yell at them, anger filling me.

"WHAT?!" They both yell in unison, shock plastered on their faces.

"N-no..! That- No! You're lieing!" Riley speaks up, tears in her eyes.

I look at them sympathetically as Maya comforts Riley. "She's just lieing. She just doesn't want us together. Like your dad." She says, anger tracing her voice.

"No. Please. Riley. I'm your mom, I promise I'm
Not lieing to you." Maya turns her head to me, her eyebrows furrowed. "Promises are made to be broken." She says, her voice low.

Riley looks at me, tears rolling down her face. I plead with her by just looking at her.

She pulls away from Maya, wiping the tears away. "She's right.." She says quietly, causing Maya's eyes to widen. "Riley. Do you realize what you just said?! You agreed with your mom! Saying we're related!"

"I know. But she wouldn't lie to me about that." I look at Maya. "Oh you've grown so much sice I last saw you.." I say quietly.

"But- but how! N-no! I still don't believe this!"

"Well, I can tell you what happened.."

"Please." Riley speaks up.

I nod, "it was 17 years ago.."
