Hey all! So, I don't like having Sandy so mad at Dean, and it's time these two stubborn fools just admitted how they really felt instead of throwing temper tantrums. Besides, they have a movie to film and a career to jumpstart, they need to get a move on. The date is February 13th, 1949.
"It's been ten days already Jerry. He hasn't come into work once, and neither of us have heard a word from him. I'm starting to get really worried," Sandy said, pacing back and forth on her living room carpet. Jerry was fiddling with his hands, worry all over his face.
"He isn't at his apartment Sandy. I don't know what to do; he didn't leave a note or anything, he just up and disappeared," Jerry sighed, his frustration with his friend mingling with the fear he had for Dean's well being.
"You don't think he went back to Ohio do you?" Sandy asked fearfully, stopping suddenly in her tracks. Jerry shook his head adamantly, causing Sandy to heave a great sigh in relief.
"Nah...he's not that irrational. Besides, all of his things are still in the apartment," Jerry mused, trying to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together. Sandy just slumped into the couch, her head in her hands as she fought back the tears that were sure to come. Jerry noticed and walked over to her, putting an arm around her shoulders.
"Hey...I'm sure he's fine. He's just letting off some steam, just like you were. You just have a better temperament than he does," Jerry said, trying to lighten the mood. Sandy chuckled slightly, before looking at Jerry with tear filled eyes.
"I...I turned down the offer Jerry. I want to say with you guys...with him. I told Mr. Wallis this morning that we would be happy to do the movie, provided that Dean is up for it. I choose him Jerry, I always would have chosen him," she sobbed, wondering how this had turned into such a mess. Jerry was silent for a minute, fighting the happy smile that was threatening to break across his face. He was glad Sandy was ready to stop acting like a child and tell Dean how she felt, now if only the same could be said for a certain Italian.
"I'm sorry I doubted you Sandy. You know...we would have supported you either way. Dean would have come around eventually, he cares about you too much to lose you for too long," Jerry said kindly.
"Thanks Jer...it means a lot, but I...I need to hear him say it," Sandy said quietly.
"I understand..." Jerry said quietly. He was about to say more, but a knock on the door startled the both of them. They looked at each other in shock, before scrambling to the door. Wrenching it open, Sandy's relieved face melted into disappointment when she saw who it was.
"Lucas...it's you," she said sadly, feeling slightly guilty about her reaction. Lucas paid no attention, instead looking back and forth between the two friends with wide eyes.
"You'd both better come with me quick," Lucas said, his voice shaking. Sandy's heart stopped, gazing at Lucas with fear in her eyes.
"Is he hurt? Oh my God is he okay?" Sandy spat out, clutching onto Lucas's shoulders when he didn't answer her immediately.
"He's fine...well, physically. I always knew he had a past as a boxer, but from what I heard he was never very good..." Lucas said in amazement, his voice trailing off. Jerry and Sandy looked at each other with wide eyes, before scrambling to get their coats.
"He's at..." Lucas started, before being interrupted by both Sandy and Jerry impatiently.
"Gold's Gym...we know," they muttered, running out the door quickly.

"Ladies and gentleman...thank you for being a part of our annual Amateur Boxing Competition! For our next match, we have in this corner our young Middleweight champion, Mr. Clinton Ferris!" A chipper announced voiced, the audience cheering loudly. A muscular and formidable looking young man raised his glove menacingly, before pounding his chest like a gorilla.
