After that dream, I felt unsettled about being around Johnny. Truth be told, I was terrified of Johnny. Wouldn't you be, after a dream like that?
Somehow I got this feeling that Johnny and I were from separate worlds and he was out of my reach. Where was the Johnny I knew? Is the Johnny that I love .. gone?
The thought of this depressed me.
I let out a huge sigh and I reluctantly got out of bed.
Time for the first day of " School." Yippe...
The first day of school with Johnny is not something I look forward to. He never lets me space out and "pretend to listen." I could hear him now, How can you expect to learn if you don't listen... urghh what a pain he is. He never gets off my back. He's like a dog which you can't get to stop barking.
" The car is ready" shouted Johnny from downstairs.
He put out his hand to assist me to the car, but, I refused to take it. I stood about half a metre away from him, edging him on to lead. I could feel a different aura around Johnny. He looked somewhat different, he looked anxious. He was paying attention to his surrounding to much... He stopped closing his eyes. Once he opened them, a much fiercer look arose from his face.
He grabbed my hand and picked up the pace, till I was nearly running to the car. Why the hurry?
I rolled my eyes. What a nerd.
" Miss Kayla, I can't come with you to school today" he said looking away.
He shut the door and told the driver where to go. But, Why the sudden formality? This confused me and I daunted on it all day. Johnny has only once before said my name in this manner.
That was the time around when I first met him.

After I knew Kayla was in the car safe. I looked around, and there they were. The elders appeared. This can't be good.
After all, I have not seen them since that incidence 10 years ago.
" Why, why. If it isn't Johnny," one said.
" What are you doing here?" I asked, not pleased about their sudden reappearance.
" Well, just to checking on.. Kayla" he hissed, with a smile.
"She will soon awaken," both elders triumphed.
She will soon awaken.
