Day after day me and my dancers rehearsed for my upcoming Tour: The Moonlight Tour. This included my new dancer, Ricky. He was amazing. He knew all the right moves and kept on suggesting great ideas for our new dance routine. The days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months. He was a perfect dancer. He was perfect company. He was a perfect friend. Our fellowship blossomed into a beautiful friendship. Every time we had a break from our dances, he would always sit with me and we would chat about random things, ya know as you do. Each day Ricky and I became closer and closer. After a while we got so close we became best friends. When my dance team asked me to sit down and watch their fresh routine, I couldn't stop looking at Ricky. Like he was the only one on stage. When he saw me looking at him his red, sweaty face lit up like the moon at night, which made me smile, too. After a WHOLE YEAR of dance routines for the new tour, we decided to celebrate with a party. It was the perfect time to gather with: my close friends/family, my dancers, my make-up designers, my fashion/costume designers, my beautiful hair stylist and my musical instrument players. When we were finished preparing the party, it looked gorgeous. Crisp white walls, lavender table cloths, lavender and white flowers and finally perfected with a warm glow of purple and pink strobe lights. When everyone had arrived I walked into a room of loud chatter and blaring music, just how I like it. I arrived wearing a beige split - leg dress with transparent crystals settling over the stomach. I then realised, looking around, I had caught someone's eye. Ricky. He was staring into my eyes so I couldn't help but stare back. He raised his can of beer into the air as if to say 'cheers' as I was given a glass of red wine. Therefore I raised my glass back. Ricky moved his hand to and fro as if he was fanning himself, gesturing me to come over. So I did. The first thing he did was place his muscly arm around my neck suffocated by my curly hair. I was confused but it was a party and I didn't want it to bother me so I just brushed it off. I cleared my throat and looked at one of my other best friends opposite me, Lexie, instead. "Hey Ari, this party is amazing, all your hard work has paid off! I bet you're excited for Moonlight to come out in January?" Lexie said excitedly.
"Thanks and DEFINITELY! I wish I could just release it now but that's not how things work so I'mmmmmm going to grab something to eat quick!" I exclaimed as I finally found an excuse to escape from under Ricky's arm. I quickly power-walked over to the buffet. I spun around and saw my mom dancing so as I left I rapidly picked a grape in case Ricky saw and danced over to my mom. We greeted each other with a peck on the cheek and we exchanged reassuring smiles as we let go of each others hands and danced off to mingle with the rest of the people at the party.
"Ari! Come over here I need to show you a new move I thought of for our new dance routine!" Everything started well... I even started clapping along to the song I imagined the dance was for. THUD! Ricky had hit the floor, landing on his face, with an abrupt bang......
