We arrived at the hospital. As all of the doctors were pushing Ricky around in that trolley again, they were all talking to each other extraordinarily quickly, with technical language either Lexie nor I understood. That panicked us more. When they parked Ricky, they counted to three once again and lifted him onto the bed. I could do nothing but cry and sympathise Ricky. That bed looked as comfortable as cardboard. Just at that moment, I realised how much I loved Ricky as a friend. I couldn't survive without a best friend like him. My eyes kept looking side to side, between the heart monitor and Ricky's emotionless face. Left. Right. Left. Right. All of a sudden, for what felt like the first time in a year, Ricky made a noise. A painful groan. I jumped out of my seat and grabbed his soft hand. He gradually opened one of his eyes, and then the other. He looked at me and smiled. How he smiled at me after all of that, I don't know. Was there something on my face? Why did he look at me straight away? "Why are you looking at me like that?" I chuckled as I looked back.
"You look very pretty like that, with your hair pulled back into that messy bun." Ricky smirked. The doctors had given him a drug, so there was a very high chance he had no clue what he was saying. However it was still nice to hear a compliment.
"Thankyou. Do you remember what happened earlier? It was about an hour and a half ago?" I questioned Ricky.
"No, not really. I remember being at a party." I smiled as he said that. "And looking at you." My smile faded from shock. Really? That was all that he remembered? Was he joking me around? Then he just about sat up, gave me a peck on the lips and flopped back down again. Ummm.. What just happened? I didn't make much of it, he was probably still under the influence of the drug the doctors had given him. I didn't say anything more about it, I just quickly changed the subject.
"Sooo... How are you feeling now?" I asked.
"A lot better." he replied. That also made me feel a lot better, too. "Ari,can I tell you something?" Ricky giggled like a little school girl.
I giggled, too and replied, "Yeah of course you can! What is it?"
"I love you." he said. I said I loved him as a friend, too, he was always there for me.
Ricky's smile vanished. "No,no! Not as friend.... Real love." he softly stated, his cheeks blushing a rosy pink. Oh no. What was this feeling... This I couldn't ignore. This. This hit me like a tone of bricks. But then I realised why it had hit me so hard. I loved Ricky, too.
"Yeah," I smiled. "I love you, too." I gently said, leaning in for a kiss on the cheek. Wow.
"Well let's do something about it, can we now be officially a couple?" Ricky laughed.
"Of course" I excitedly replied. It wasn't weird as Ricky and I had known each other for a while now. And now he's my boyfriend. Everything had happened whilst Lexie was getting some coffee. Yeah. Everything had Changed...
