(This is an elegy I wrote for my English class.)

My Swan

Oh the great peace of mind where have you gone?

I can no longer see any hope without you here

I can no longer see anything but the blackening dawn

I can no longer hold onto the one whom I endear

I can no longer hold onto myself ever since you died

What ever happened to your solace?

My dear dove how could you love this sweet suicide?

I'm now drifting into insanity completely lawless

I can't stand this life without you

Oh the glorious times we had

Watching sun set summer skies sinking into the sea

You kept me sound in mind no matter how good or bad

You made me feel so free

You carried me through anxiety filled nights

You comforted me through all of my hard fought fights

It was not you who so loved I as I who cared for you

For all these things I am so thankful and only wish you knew

How I long to be by your side every restless night

My sweet swan, I can find peace in that you are at rest

You were the one I loved so sincerely

I gave you my everything; you had every bit of my best

Sweet swan you rest in your tomb so dearly

I find solace in the thought to you at peace

I find solace in the wind whistling through the trees

I find solace in my love for you that will never cease

I find solace here on my knees

It is what it is; it is what it was, and words are what remain
