“Hey Uncle Si…Oh sorry didn’t realize we had visitors.” I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.
“You look like hell.” Becs, the bassist in our band, said laughing at my attempt to glare. I still stood patiently waiting for some explanation as to why there were five strange boys standing in our house.
“She should. She has been awake for three days writing lyrics.” Hayley added, glancing worriedly at me.
“Rain, what have I told you about doing that?” Simon said, looking at me concerned.
“I’m fine! I just wanted you to look at some lyrics and give me an opinion. Now will someone tell me why there are random guys chillin’ in the house?” I asked, handing Simon a notebook with my lyrics in it.
The guys laughed, stepping forward and introducing themselves. “They’re staying with you girls while you both work on your next albums before you tour together.” Simon said, “I’ll look over these and get back to you tomorrow.”
Simon left, leaving us to get to know the five boys who were joining us for the next couple of months. “Sooooo, I’m going to force Rain to eat and get some sleep. It’s late, get to know each other tomorrow?” Becs asked, dragging me into the kitchen.
“Food!” the Blondie yelled, immediately perking up.
“Actually I could go for some food.” Another said, followed by a chorus of “me toos”.
“Hayleyyyyy I want pancakes.” I slurred sleepily, feeling completely out of it.
“Yes master.” Hayley said, rolling her eyes.
I glanced around trying to remember each of the boy’s names. My eyes got caught on one with an abnormally large quiff. I sat at the counter starring at his hair. “What?” the boy asked, glancing at me.
“Your hair defies gravity. It's time try/Defying gravity/I think I'll try/Defying gravity/And you can't pull me down!” I sang, belting out defying gravity.
“Sorry about her. She gets weird when she’s not sleeping.” Becs laughed, patting my head. I giggled and rested my head against the nearest person.
“Hi Blondie Boy.” I giggled, “OH! Mommy can you put chocolate chips in mine?” I yelped, jumping up and prancing over to where Hayley was cooking.
“When exactly was the last time she slept?” a British accent said, causing me to spin around.
“What are your names, again?” I asked, glancing around between the boys.
“I’m Liam.” Said the one with the shaved head.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Military Buzzcut.” I responded, rubbing his head.
“Niall.” The blonde one giggled.
“Harry.” The curly one said.
“Louis!” another yelled, striking a superman pose.
“Zayn.” The gravity boy said, smiling slightly.
“And we’re One Direction.” They chorused together, causing all of us to laugh.
“How about you ladies?” Liam asked, grabbing the plate full of pancakes and setting it on the table that Becs had set.
“Rebecca. But call me Becs.” Becs said, laughing as I almost face planted into my pile of pancakes.
