~*Chapter Three*~

"Ladies first," said Mr Lander.

"Thanks..," I said sheepishly, while walking in front of him in the line.

"Dane Lander," he said and stretched out his hand.

"Adaira Bellamy," I said shaking his hand.

"Wow, a Scottish name and a French surname that's interesting," he said with a small smile on his face.

'Thanks?' I thought to say but I decided to turn around. I also had to get breakfast for Eda and Gale. It was a thing we did. I get breakfast, Eda gets lunch and Gale gets dinner.

"Aren't you going to introduce me?" 'Green-eyes' said behind Dane.

Dane grunted but he did so snyways, "Gunner-Adaira, Adaira-Gunner."

"A pleasure," he said, he took my hand and kissed it.

"Really blondy?" I said after he kissed my hand. Dane laughed at this and I blushed. He had a great laugh it made me feel happy.

Gunner was about to say something but Anora just had to show up.

"Hi, I'm Anora," she chirped. I just rolled my eyes and continued moving in the line. I didn't know who was serving breakfast I just hoped it was someone with no relations to Anora. I smiled when I saw Selena serving the girl in front of me. When she was done I grabbed 3 trays and plates and moved to her I got toasted ham and cheese for myself, cereal for Gale and some weird fruit salad for Eda.

Gale and Eda were talking to another boy who we sat with. There were 7 seats at our table. I learned that his name was Marlin Seph and that he was really shy. He was trying to grow and afro and I could tell Eda really had an interest in him.

I had bread in my mouth and chocked on it when I saw Anora pull a chair at our table.

"Are you okay?" Dane asked. He was concerned and came to awkwardly pat me on my back I shook my head 'no' still coughing. He took me by my hand and pulled me to the corner of the room. After I finished coughing fit I felt weak. I needed to lay down. My throat hurt and I needed some liquid. All the food went down my breathing hole it felt horrible. All this was Anora's fault. I couldn't stand anymore. Dane sensed it and came closer. I rested my head in his chest and slowly breathed in his scent.

"Would you like a drink?" I nodded and he quickly brought me some water I quickly drank it then thanked him. I felt like I was on fire and I need to cool down. I walked back to the table I had lost my appetite and didn't want to eat anymore.

When my friends were done we quickly threw away our trash and went into the kitchen. I grabbed some frozen peas from the freezer and placed it on my head I smiled at my friends weakly. Once I felt good again we talked about the incident and how Dane saved me. We walked back to the lunch room just in time as Mr Hangover walked to the small stage.

"Hello students. As you all know today is Sports Day it's going to be a long day so I'll keep this brief. We will be starting with field sports then we will go into track. Straight after that we will be playing the matches. Soccer, hockey, lacrosse and squash. There will be a total of 24 matches than we end the day with swimming. You all have to be in your houses, those are Blythe, Noam and Fane. Over the years in both schools the house Blythe has always come last. There is no shame there. In the boys school Fane has always come first and in the girls school it has been Noam. So this means that this year is going to be competitive for the house trophy. My advice is to give it your all and boys please play clean," he said. Some boys laughed at this, while others nodded. I went up and shook the old mans sweaty hand. When I sat down we were told where our houses should go.

"So guys in which house are you in?" I asked.

"They are obviously in Noam," Anora snapped. What is she still doing here? I don't know.

"No, we are all in Fane," Dane answered and I smiled. Bye Anora! I smirked and watched her leave.

"Follow us my fellow Fanes," I said with a smile. We walked through the garden and to the auditorium. The auditorium was crowded and you could feel the excitement in the air. It was noisy as always and I smiled.

Dane was saying something but I couldn't hear.

"What!" I made hand gestures to show that I couldn't hear. As quick as lightning Dane pulled me to him. I was so close to him I could feel his heartbeat.

Gently he said into my ear,"it's loud in here."

"Yeah," I answered nodding my head. He chuckled but didn't pull back. After a few more seconds he asked how the teachers were going to quiet us down.

I smiled and said,"they don't." I pulled back and disappeared into the crowd. I walked to the stage and walked to the back Eda and Gale were already here. Great.

"Now!" I yelled. People began beating on drums. Then the chanting began.

"Fane are you ready?" I started low but they could here me because of the microphone. I was answered by some cheering.

"Hello? Fane, she asked are you ready?" Gale said. The cheering was louder this time and I smiled.

"If you say so," I said in the microphone. Eda pressed the red button and streamers, confetti and balloons came down from the roof. The students cheered and so did I. Nara and a man came backstage. Nara was our house female leader.

"This is Mr X you can call him Maxter."
We nodded. The drums started playing and Nara spoke. We got our azure colored shirts. Noam has red colored shirts and Blythe has emerald colored shirts. After Nara's motivational speech Mr X spoke he said one line but it drove everyone on a cheer rampage.

"This is a new year. There will be new challenges, new opportunities, new friends and new adventures. What we should do, to make it special is, to firstly make it ours!"
