I felt myself being lifted from my bed. The person carrying me was warm and I curled closer to their chest to warm up. It was freezing cold and I didn't have anything to keep me warm. I felt like an ice cube on flames because... that's exactly the situation I was in. The building is on fire and not even the flames can keep me warm. I was between reality and dream. Lost. I didn't want to wake up but I didn't want to sleep either. I was frozen. Something in the air was foreign. I wasn't at home anymore. That's all I knew.

"I'm glad to see your awake," Cale said from beside. We were lying on the ground, a fire lit beside us. I was close enough to see a faint scar underneath his eyebrow.
"Where am I?" I croaked getting off his chest. I fell instantly and a faint blush made it's way to the surface. Cale smirked from underneath me.
How embarrassing. Seconds later I was yanked of Cale and cradled by Dane.
"She's mine," he growled.
"Woah, easy there." Alice commented from beside me and effortlessly removed Dane's hands from around me.
"I don't get why we have to work with the blood sucking leech, he's totally unreliable. He barely saved Adaira, and now because of him she has 'The Fever'." Jace said. "And look at that guy."
I turned to where Jace was pointing and there laid Jasper on the ground with feathers and leaves all over him. He had painted eyes on his eyelids and a big smile over his lips. "He keeps on saying he's meditating, but we all know he painted his face and is asleep." Alice said, amusement lacing her words.
"Oh and we sent your friends to go hunting," Jase added.
"You did what!"
Hearing my voice felt so foreign. It held a ring to it. I don't know why but I felt like I didn't even say that sentence.
"She's talking to herself now," Jace groaned and dramatically raised his arms in the air.
"They planed on ditching them," Cale announced.
I walked towards Cale and looked him straight in the eye. "Can I trust you," I whispered. He stared into my eyes and I watched his eyes studying them. "Yes."
"Explain."
"Avalanche set the school on fire. Killed almost everyone. There's only a few of us. These are the things we lost in the fire," he said handing me a list. I scanned over it.
"What about them?"
"We need them to create a portal unless you want to walk over the bridge Fleay. But that's dangerous. We need your permission to take the route."
"Danger is my middle name," I smiled grinning. "Who survived."
"You, me, Dane, Alice, Jasper, Jace," he said Dane and Jace's name with annoyance. "Gale, Anora, Celeste, Genevieve--"
"Ai," I commented in Latin when I heard Anora's name. Why didn't she die?
Cale chuckled and carried on. "Alessio, Ilaria, Luke, Mario, Ricardo, Cary, Josh, Nunu, Mora, Palaysa, C.Pati and some Jean Lucas guy."
"What about Eda and Marlin?" I asked.
"I'm sorry Adaira," Cale whispered.
