Chapter 28
I'm the mother of your child, so you stuck with me for life... Lil Mo, 'Mother Of Your Child'
Talisha was right and Mama Jingles knew that she was speaking bold facts. Malone's father was her lover and comforter. She would have given her life to live for the love his father was giving to her. Malone had every right to be envious of the woman who destroyed what his father and mother once shared. The warm memories of his mother and father dancing to Teddy Pendergrass, "Close the Door," while laughing and sharing sweet timeless kisses. Malone would play with his trucks and trains on their red oak wood floors with his younger brother. The unforgettable memories of his mother and father taking communion together at church every first Sunday.
Mama Jingles would never be able to give him back the woman that had the courage to bring him into this world. Talisha understood the anger that he had towards her grand mother. Malone would constantly remind her once he would have a few glasses of Hennessy about the love his mother had for his father. As much as he wanted to love Talisha the way he could have imagined his father had for his mother, he would give up. He didn't give up on loving Talisha out of fear, but because he knew that deep down in Talisha she had her grandmother's selfish and cold-hearted ways. He was afraid of what loving Talisha deeply and wholeheartedly would make her become. Maybe, she would have become a malicious monster who harvested hate, and bitterness inside of her heart. Whatever it would have been, he didn't want to give Talisha his all.
Mama Jingles walked after Talisha without saying another word to get her to turn around and face her. Talisha stormed to her car and opened the door.
Mama Jingles stood on the opposite side of her car and said, "Lisha, can you realize how much it took for me to accept the wrong that I have done? Do you think I am some type of liar and a home wrecker?"
She sat inside of her car and slammed the door before rolling down the window on the passenger's side to hear her grandmother out. She said back, "I can't judge you for what you choose to do many years ago. You just didn't think that I was walking around with my head in the clouds, because I was with someone like Malone. He was hurt and hell, he still is hurt from what you did!"
"Well, Lisha if he want to know the truth then his father was master mind behind his own mother's death! All I can do for him is love him from a distance and pray for him. With me saying that I am going to be on my way to go get Casey." She replied back looking unfazed from the words she said before.
Talisha held back tears and said, "All I want you to do is come through for Raymond. I will be back to see my sister. I just can't believe you right now."
"Well, believe 'cause I damn sho' don't have to lie to you to prove my point." She said before walking back to her front door.
Talisha pressed the automat control switch to roll the window back up and made her way to Raymond's house.
