Chapter 20
She don't wanna live like this, but she can't let you go... Lyfe Jenning, 'She Don't Wanna'
Later that day at the hospital
Talisha stood in the Starbucks line on the first floor clenching her phone in the palm of her hand. She didn't walk back into her sister's room for over thirty minutes. Mama Jingles probably was jumping to conclusions about her to Casey, and as to why her big sister didn't come back, but Talisha really needed to clear her mind. P.J's Cafe was the choice of coffee for the morning and as the afternoon crept on by she wanted her Starbucks fix. The line had three people standing before her. The first customer stood at the register barking orders and from his demanding and arrogant tone it was a male doctor, who wore a bleached white doctor's lab coat. He seemed to be giving the barista a hard time with his picky caffeine selection. Behind him stood a brunette hair woman, who looked to be no older than 25. Her hair a few inches passed her shoulders and upon her rose pink scrub of choice, and she seemed irritated from the doctor's caffeine demands for coffee. She tapped one of her feet and place one of her hands on her hip. She looked back at the line that was slowly forming longer behind her and smacked her teeth. The third person was standing on crutches with all of his weight shifted to one side of his body. He looked so familiar to Talisha that she just had the urge to tap him on his back and ask him a question. Just as quick as he turned around Talisha instantly knew it was Warren.
"Hey, Lisha!" He smiled and said looking a tad bit uneasy on his crutches.
"Just who I wanted to see." She reached out and smacked Warren in his face.
He stumbled on the floor dropping his crutches. Warren tried to regain his balance from Talisha's smack to the face, but stood no match towards her rage.
Everyone stared and backed away from Warren. A few of the vistors who walked into the doors stopped to see the end result of what was taking place. The arrgoant doctor shouted, "Really,
"Lisha, you lost yo' mind mane, I didn't do you or Casey shit!"
"Bitch, it's way deeper than what you talking 'bout. You think that you some untouchable woman beater that can't be stopped? Bitch, I dare you to stand yo' ass up and hit me! Fuck over me like you did my sister, bitch!" She yelled, and walked over to Warren and started kicking him in his sides and injured leg.
Warren blocked her vicious kicks and blows to his side and injured leg. He felt guilty for taking the pain medicine prescribe to him from the CNA before his release.
"Touch me again, Lisha. You big 'n bad outcha cause you pregnant. Like a nigga like me haven't heard about yo' ass. You beating on a dude who on crutches. You really have no chill, huh? He said as the brunette woman in scrubs helped him back onto his crutches. The police were alerted before Talisha could find the will-power to run on him and knock him back down.
"Mame we are going to have to escort you off the property." A stocky built back cop said out loud as he walked towards Talisha's direction.
"Naa, let her set it off in this motherfucka', since she think she Juvie! Mr. Officer." Warren joked as he quoted Juvenile, 'Set It Off' lyrics. He adjusted his self on his crutches and limped to the opposite side of the first floor to take a well-needed seat.
The police officer walked up to Talisha to restate his words louder. He paid very close attention to Talisha and Warren's interactions before calling for back up. Raymond stood on the fourth floor and looked down from the balcony to see what was all the yelling about.
