Artemis Love walked into her school for another boring year. She was on the lookout for any drama. She spied her name on a door for a homeroom class, and went inside. When she saw him, her heart leaped into her throat. She saw some of her former friends and after saying a brief hello to them, and her former teacher, she approached the boy, who's table was empty. "Hi.. Um.. Can I sit here?" The mysterious boy looked up, and she almost melted. "Sure." he looked back down at his phone.
Artemis settled her stuff at the table, and notice he was looking at her out of the corner of his eye. More people drifted in, all of whom Artemis knew. "Hey guys!" she called out, and got hugs from her friends. "So.. you weren't here last year.." Artemis said to the mysterious boy. "Ah, No. My name is Cameron, and I came from another school across the way. What's your name?" Artemis blushed a little, and flicked her hair out of her face. "Artemis." she replied, blushing harder. Please do not notice she mentally begged him.
"Cute name." he told her, looking into her eyes. Her cheeks burned, and then he smiled. Artemis's friend Melanie walked in, and sat down next to her. "Hey Artemis, what's up?" she asked her, slapping palms with Artemis, as Cameron watched. "Hey, new kid." she nodded to Cameron, and he sort of waved. "So what's your major?" Artemis asked Cameron. "I'm a band major. I play the trumpet." he told her proudly, smiling. "I'm a vocal major." she told him, and his eyes lit up. "Really? That's cool." and Artemis blushed AGAIN!
"Let's compare schedules!" she told him, and he handed his schedule over. they only had one class together but that was totally cool. "We have Earth Science together." she told him, smiling a bit. "Chill." The bell rang, and Artemis stood up. "So I'll see you third hour." she told him. He nodded and smiled, and Artemis watched him go, a feeling of sadness and fresh hope washing over her.
