Artemis kicked her shoes off as she lay in her bed, grabbing her phone off of her dresser and shooting a text to Cameron. She smiled in anticipation of talking to him. Her smile fell when she saw that her ex, Nash, had texted her, asking her to talk to him. She rolled her eyes, and in irritation she told him No. He immediately text her back asking why, and she chucked her phone into a chair, until she got another notification, signaling a text. It was Grayson. He was asking her about her day and she text him a brief summary, explaining how good her day was.

Her phone dinged again, and it was Cameron! Artemis's heart fluttered briefly, smiling at his "Hey." They then went on to have a full-blown conversation about their school day. Artemis smiled when he told her she was beautiful, and she almost freaked out. He asked her to be his Best Friend, and she instantly agreed. Why not? She asked herself. She felt her mouth stretching into a smile, and she felt true happiness.

She twirled her hair into a sloppy bun as her phone rang, and she rushed to grab it. Grayson wanted to FaceTime! Artemis sat on her floor and held her phone up so Grayson could see all of her. When she answered she saw that Grayson's cousin Eli was with him. They had all went to school together before, Eli being a year younger than them but always seemed to be the relationship counselor when it came to Artemis and Grayson. "Whassup Artemis." Eli nodded to her, and he turned back to the TV and the game he was playing. "'Sup." she answered looking at Grayson.

"So, your day was better than mine but mines just got better." Grayson told her, and Artemis cocked her head to the side, a gesture she knew he loved. "Why?" she asked, and Grayson smiled at her, making her heart race. "I'm talking to you, aren't I?" he asked, lifting an eyebrow, and she blushed and laughed. She was remembering all the late night talks, and the FaceTime at 3 in the morning when she couldn't sleep. God, she felt horrible about Cameron now. And just as she thought, Cameron text her, and Grayson noticed the ding and felt the vibration through the phone.

"Who's that?" he asked, and Artemis bit her lip. "My new Best Friend. His name is Cameron." Grayson nodded. "He sounds pretty cool, well I'm so glad you had a good day baby girl. " Artemis blew a kiss at him, and ended the call feeling guilty, sad, and elated all at the same time.
