When Artemis got to school the next morning, she found Cameron waiting for her by a window near the entrance. Her heart took off with happiness as he smiled at her, and she had to resist running into his arms and receiving a hug. She felt a pang of irritation when three other guys joined them but quickly chilled out when she noticed that she sat next to one of them in her Earth Science class after changing her seat away from Tania and Cameron, so that she wouldn't have to see Tania trying to talk with him. She had a boyfriend, Tania didn't, so why shouldn't she flirt with Cameron? Because Artemis had so much more than just a crush on this beautiful boy.

Artemis looked on her phone just as Grayson text her, and she bit her lip, unsure if it was rude to just randomly interrupt the guy's conversation with her flying text thumbs. They all walked up the stairs together, and Artemis noticed one of the boys watching her but trying not to seem obvious about it, and she smiled at him, startling him as he looked away and she went back to her phone, turning on her favorite artist, Wale, and most of his new songs from 'The Album About Nothing.' She smiled as the first opening chords to her favorite song came on, and she quietly sang along with them.

She didn't notice when the boys stopped and began to listen to her, because she had been so engrossed in Wale, she didn't notice all of them looking at her in amazement. "You have a really pretty voice, Arty." Cameron told her, and she blushed. Arty? she asked herself, shaking it off and continuing to walk. She finally made it to her locker, and all of Cameron's friends went to theirs, leaving Artemis and Cameron alone. Artemis cringed as she opened her locker door, knowing it was a weird array of books and sorts that she shared with Tania.

Cameron began to talk to the people around them, and Artemis couldn't help notice that he made everyone smile, especially the girls. Artemis felt a sting of jealousy and quickly hid it on her face as a group of girls talked to Cameron. "Hey, Cam, ready?" Artemis asked, interrupting whatever little group the girls were having with Cameron, and some gave them the evil eye when Artemis looped her arm through his. Cameron looked a little surprised, but went along with her a new gleam in his eye. "Yeah, sure." he told her, and together they left, arm in arm, big smiles on their faces.
