Love Found Her

Chapter 9

Artemis walked into Homecoming as nervous as the day she had auditioned for her school. She had the most extreme butterflies she had ever experienced. She pasted a smile on her face, and almost screamed as Tania ran into her arms. She laughed lightly, quickly fixing her dress. "Terrence is waiting for you!!" she almost screamed, and Artemis laughed a little harder. She quickly mustered up her courage, and walked over to Terrence's table, where Travis, and his girlfriend Raina were waiting. She almost cried when she saw how Terrence's face lit up at the sight of her, and suddenly, she felt like the most beautiful girl in the world.

"Hi." she said bashfully, blushing. "Um why aren't you guys dancing?" she asked, and Terrence shrugged. "Because Terrence don't want nobody but you!" Travis loudly answered, causing Raina to laugh. "Well, let's go, shall we?" Artemis asked Terrence, holding out her perfectly manicured hand. Terrence shook his head. "I don't dance." he said, blushing slightly. "Pleeeeease?" she asked again, playfully shaking her hand. He shook his head again, and Travis smacked his arm. "If you change your mind, come find me, alright?" she told him, and he nodded.

Artemis went to dance with her friends, and was having a wonderful time when the Bryson Tiller song she'd been listening to earlier that day came on. Everyone grabbed someone else, and she felt so alone she didn't know what to do, until she felt someone twirling her around. Terrence! Artemis gasped as she face him, and he looked down at her with the most perfect smile on his face. As he wrapped his arms around her, she rested her head on his chest. She sang along to the song, swaying gently with him.

She felt a tear trickle down her cheek. She looked up at Terrence, who wiped her cheek with his thumb and kissed her forehead, continuing to dance with her. She laughed at how foolish it was to cry at this perfect moment she was having, but she couldn't help it. He wasn't Cameron. He could never be Cameron. But she couldn't fight the feeling of a crush starting on the shy, quiet, Terrence. She smiled a little at herself, as the song changed to a different Bryson Tiller song, called 'Exchange."

"Give me all of you, in exchange for me." Artemis sang along, and Terrence tilted her face toward his. His eyes smiled with him as he looked into her eyes. Artemis had never felt so beautiful in her life as she did with Terrence smiling down at her, when he said two words.

"I will."
