(RILEY'S POV)

I woke up in Nick's bed and immediately realised that I wasn't alone in the room. Nick had left as soon as he dumped me in the room last night without saying a word to me and I hadn't even heard him get back in.

"I have to go out today." I said without any emotion in my voice. If he wanted to play the cold uncaring being then I'd play along.

"No." Was his simple response so I turned around to see him looking extremely hot in a moody way as he sat in an old chair in the corner of the room.

"No? No?!! You can't keep me here against my will!!" I shouted but his face remained blank.

"I can and I will." He said simply as if he was telling me too much junk food was bad for me!

"I have plans today and you're not going to ruin them for me because you're a moody git who is stuck playing babysitter!!!" I got out of the bed and made my way to the door.

"What plans?" he asked as I tried the door. Locked!

I rested my head on the door in exasperation. "Private plans Nick so just open the door."

"With him?!" He hissed and suddenly I was facing him toe to toe.

I tried to push him away but he wouldn't move. "Yes with him! Do you have a problem with that Nick? Or could the problem be that you don't want me but you also don't want me to be happy with someone else?" I tilted my head slightly to get a better view of his face. "Or is it the fact that he's normal and that's something you can never be?"

Finally emotion showed on his face... Anger was extremely prominent on his face in fact... Then he laughed and startled me.

"He's normal is he?" Nick seemed to be searching for something on my face and whatever he found had him genuinely smiling. "He hasn't told you has he?"

"Told me what?"

"He's not normal Riley... He's not even human."

"Oh yeah? So what is he if he's not human or a vampire?" I asked but I could feel my heart start to race in my chest but not necessarily for the right reasons.

"He's a werewolf Riley and so is his best friend Darren. They are part of the same pack even." He didn't seem bothered that this news could be breaking my heart at this very second.

"You're lying!" he had to be lying. I couldn't have missed that about Blaine.

"Am I Riley? The only thing you should be questioning is how you feel about Blaine and whether you were with him only because he was 'normal'."

That hit home because that was the reason I liked Blaine. If I wanted paranormal then Blaine couldn't compete with Nick.

"At least he never bit me!" I accused and tried to walk past him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me even closer to him.

"I only did that to change you into a vampire." He answered as if his words needed no other explanation.

"So I'm not alright as I am? You feel the need to change me to be with me?"

He stroked a hand softly down my cheek. "You're perfect the way you are and I will always think so. The only problem with you is that you won't live long enough to be with me for eternity." He kissed me long and deeply before breaking off to look me in the eyes. "And I couldn't face the thought of you not being in my world."

"And why's that?" I asked breathlessly.

"Because I love you Riley." I looked into his eyes and saw the truth shining in them.

"I love you too." I said beaming at him. I held him close to me until he pulled away a little to see my face.

"So will you join me and be my only light in eternal darkness?" He asked solemnly and I couldn't help smiling at him.

"Talk about being morbidly romantic!" I said with sarcasm dripping from my voice.

"Is that a yes?" He asked with uncertainty.

"Of course it is a..." I gushed until a silky voice drifted in from the background.

"Not another darkness speech is it Niko?" At the sound of the voice Nick froze and began to hiss.

"What are you doing here Arabell?" His tone was hostile and that instantly made me hostile towards this Arabell.

"I'm here for you Niko... I missed you and wanted to be your light again." She laughed an the sound sounded more bitter than joyful.

"I never said that to you and you know it! I changed you because I pitied you when you were dying." The woman hissed and walked through the doorway.

She looked like a model around my age and I could see why Nick would be attracted to her... But tough!!! He's attracted to me as well as I'm sick of running!!!

"Well why don't you go find a man who actually wants you and leave me and my boyfriend alone!" I snapped and practically hissed myself.

Nick just stared at me and then beamed at me. "You heard the lady Bell! Now leave." His tone became menacing and it was clear to see why Nick was one of the vampires no one messed with.

The woman sniffed in indignation. "Well I'll be here for a while so you'll have chance to change your mind and be with a real woman." She looked down her nose at me and I wanted to smack it off of her pretty little face. "Not this possessive little GIRL."

"Why can I smell James in my house?" Who James was I had no idea but the name made Nick even more tense.

"Because he wanted to meet Alexander's new play thing so I brought him here to take something else off of Alexander." Her smile was cruel as she left the room with a provocative swing in her step.

"Who is James exactly?" I asked quietly, dreading to find out the answer.

"The vampiric equivalent of Darren... Just a lot older and a hell of a lot more dangerous." He looked me directly in the eyes. "And the oldest enemy of Alexander's ever."

"So what does that mean exactly?" I asked panicked.

"He's after Rose..."
