Chapter 7:
About a year has gone by since I graduated. My life with Cole has been great, his uncle gave the company over to him and I started college to be a child and family social worker, so I can help other children that went through abuse and such like I did.
I still live with Cole but three times a week I go to the community college for a few hours for my classes. I don't care about the whole college experience, I'd rather be close to Cole.
Well I also noticed that I'm not to comfortable around a huge amount of people, I don't think it's a big deal but I know if I told someone they'd freak out and tell me to see a psychiatrist. I'm perfectly fine though except for the nightmares I get sometimes, but there fewer now.
I walk into the kitchen and kiss Cole's cheek,"After class I'm going to head by my old house to pick up some things," I tell him. Yea I still haven't gone back there, but I think it's time and I really need my jacket.
He nods,"Have fun," he smirks and kisses me,"I'll see you at dinner."
I nod and walk out the door. I climb into the nice car Cole bought me....I actually refused the car at first because I didn't want him to buy me something so expensive but he insisted and I needed a way to get to college, also he rich so....
I drive to the community college which is on the far side of town.
After a very boring and lecture filled six hours I finally am free. I drive to my old house but it starts bringing up bad memories.
I just have a really bad feeling and every second I get closer to the house the feeling gets worse.
I park on the side of the road and try to compose myself. Nothing is wrong, my parents are gone and in jail, I have nothing to fear from this place now.
I nod to myself and climb out of the car. I slowly walk toward the disgusting, broken down house.
My hand hovers over the doorknob for a second, I finally turn it and the door creaks loudly open.
I stick my head inside and slightly cough at the musty, drug, familiar air. I slowly step inside and head for my old room, the stairs groan and moan as I walk upstairs, I'm half afriad that they'll break.
I start putting some of the things that I left here in a box I found. I'm soon almost done since I never had many things, but then I hear a creak! And it's not just the house, it sounds like a footstep!
I quickly turn and my eyes widen, my worst fears have come true. Before me, stands my mom and dad!
I back up quickly and end up tripping and falling onto my bed.
My once father slowly creeps towards me with an evily smile,"You didn't think you'd be able to get rid of us that easily, did you?"
I'm frozen in shock as I stare at him and my mother who is slightly behind him. They both look awful, there all dirty, their clothes are ripped and torn.
"How.....how?" I manage to stutter.
My mother smirks and comes closer, I notice a knife in her hand,"Well we broke out of jail and trudged MILES in the dirty woods, alleyways, and also in the pouring raining!" she hisses glaring at me.
My father turns his glare on me also,"All that, just to see you again!" he smiles but its far from warm and happiness.
"Why.... Why?" yea stupid question but hey I'm in shock here.
"We came back to kill the person that caused all our problems," my mother says,"You!"
I'm finally kicked back into reality and I grab my phone quickly from my pocket and speed dial Cole.
