*Emily's POV*

*The next day*

So this morning we flew out to our next location of our tour and I am pretty excited. Today and tomorrow we are going to be performing in LA. Then the day after our last concert we are performing at the American Music Awards. We are also nominated for Artist of the Year. So it's going to be a pretty exciting night. Mom and dad went back to England with the rest of the parents, but they said they might fly back out to come to the awards.

"EMILY PAYNE IF YOU DO NOT WALK OUT OF THIS HOTEL ROOM DOOR RIGHT NOW, WE'RE LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!" Annemarie screamed from the door.

"I'M COMING! CALM DOWN!" I yelled back.

Well, I better get going before Annemarie actually convinces them to leave without me. It's actually happened before. Really long story. Might tell you later. Bye!

*After rehearsal*

The girls and I are currently in the dressing room, relaxing. We're usually pretty silent before concerts, so this is pretty normal for us.

"So, I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't wait until the American Music Awards." Alex told us excitedly, breaking the silence.

"Me too." We all said in unison, with slight smiles on our faces.

"Imagine if we actually win Artist of the Year." Annemarie said as she zoned out, as if she was imagining us winning.

"Well, don't get your hopes up, because there is always a possibility that we might not win." Emily said to her.

"Oh shut up and let me dream." Annemarie said as she pouted like a five year old, while the rest of us laughed.

"Girls, you're on." The crew member told us as he stuck his head in our dressing room.

*Back in England*

*Two Days before the American Music Awards*

Niall, Louis, Zayn, Harry, and I are currently walking into Simon's office at the studio. We were called in because apparently Simon has something to tell us. I don't understand why he keeps calling us into his office and making us do these random little things like singing at our daughters concerts. We aren't a band anymore, so it doesn't make sense.

"LIAM JAMES PAYNE!" I heard someone yell in my ear, causing me to jump, realizing that it was Louis.

"What?" I whined.

"Are you going to come in or are you just going to stand there all day?" Louis asked with some sass.

I just glared at him as I walked into the office along with the others.

"Hey boys, how are you doing today?" Simon asked once we were all in his office.

"We're fine. We're just wondering why you called us in today." Harry replied.

"Well, as you know the American Music Awards are in two days and I understand that you will be attending." Simon said as we just nodded.

"Well, I got a call from the producers and they told me that they were short of presenters and asked me if I knew anyone who would be up for the job." Simon started before taking a long pause.

"What are you trying to get at?" I asked, already knowing where this is going, but just wanting to make sure.

"I told them they you boys would be up for the job." Simon blurted out.

"WHAT!" We yelled in unison.

"You told them we would do it without even asking us before hand?" I questioned in disbelief.

"Yes, I did. I knew that you boys have done this type of thing before and the producers love having you on the show." Simon explained.

"But that doesn't even make sense. We're not even a band anymore. Remember?" Niall stated.

"He's right. We haven't been a band in years." Zayn added.

"I know that, but the producers don't. They saw videos of you performing at a couple of your daughters concerts and think you guys are reuniting." Simon explained.

"ARE THEY REALLY THAT STUPID!?" Louis said, yelling for no apparent reason.

"Okay, guys I know this sounds crazy, but you need to calm down. It's not going to be that bad. You're only presenting one award." Simon told us.

"And what would that award be?" Harry asked.

"Artist of the Year." Simon replied.

All five of us were silent for a minute before I spoke up.

"Okay, you do realize that our daughters are nominated in that category, right?" I said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Now I do." Simon replied.

"Do you know what's going to happen to us if we don't announce their names?" Niall asked.

"Yes, I do." Simon replied.

"Do you really want us to present Artist of the Year knowing that something bad's going to happen to us if we don't announce our daughters names? Or what would people think if we do announce our daughters names?" Louis asked, trying desperately to convince him to change his mind.

"I am fully aware." Simon replied.

"Then you'll tell them we won't do it?" Harry asked in a hopeful tone.

"Not a chance." Simon replied.

"I'm getting too old for this." Louis mumbled as he walked out of the office, causing us to laugh.

Well, I guess we're presenting Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards.
