Chapter 2
Okay, I will admit, I got drunk afterwards. But at least it wasn’t during Ashe’s wedding reception. I was feeling slightly fuzzy when Ashe and Kenton made their vows on the altar, but I was pretty sure that I acted perfectly well standing upright beside Treyon. Kenton’s twin brother kept on checking on me though –which kind of hurt my pride a little. Did he not expect me to be able to hold on to my alcohol?
Mum got teary after Kenton and Ashe kissed and exchanged rings, which became the cue of the girls flocking session. My official brother-in-law did his best to help out, but who could separate a mother who was about to give up her daughter to her new husband? Brother Noel and Zane came to the rescue this time, and escorted the crying bunch of girls to a private room while we guys got to gather.
Greetings went around and many people approached my brother-in-law, congratulating him for getting his hands on someone as hot as my sister. Throughout the entire day, Kenton kept his charming smile, and I wondered how he managed to get so used to faking his smile.
At one point of time, his parents came to congratulate him. His parents looked really well despite them being probably already in their sixties. Even his mother was kind of hot, and it didn’t take a genius to see how the mix of both their parent’s genes had made both Treyon and Kenton. Favian made small talk with me afterwards –in which I found he was quite a strict guy as opposed to his brother –but from that I learned a little more about the man who my sister was now pledged to.
Kenton, all in all, didn’t seem that bad a match for my sister, though I couldn’t help but wonder why she didn’t choose either Brother Noel or Zane. It dumbfounded me as to why the both of them stuck to her so close even after it was clear that she was now off-limits. If they couldn’t hit on her anymore, then why were they still so close to her? Something must have happened between the three of them, because I could still feel a certain measure of love and animosity between them.
Not that I had any rights to cut in. I was just here as the little brother to the bride, just the insignificant little kid who stayed at the side and drank his beer.
Dinner and dessert was lovely, but the real booze party kicked in afterwards. That was when I began hitting on the drinks hard, and I managed to sweet talk my way into more than a few dances with the hot girls that were present. I didn’t know them from anywhere –they must be family to my brother-in-law –but it didn’t matter since their curvy bodies fit mine perfectly as I pressed them to me in the slow dances.
Dance after dance, partner after partner, drink after drink, I eventually forgot it was my sister’s wedding I was at. At one point of time, Treyon complimented me for being a ladies’ man and offered me more of his ancient, delicious wine. He must have nifty fingers and plucked those wines out from somewhere because I was pretty sure his brother hadn’t prepared those for the wedding.
Dad tried to stop me from getting more drunken than I already was –probably the first time he saw how hard I could party when I wasn’t at home –but it obviously didn’t work. I wasn’t trying to be a delinquent at my sister’s wedding party, but I didn’t see the need for me to stop. I mean, I wasn’t driving. I didn’t have anything I had to do tomorrow that couldn’t be done with a hangover.
I was a little disappointed when the party ended, and the guests began to leave. Finally, we all packed up, and made for the cars. My brother-in-law’s family was rich like hell, and the newlywed couple left in a limo while we piled in luxury cars behind them, following them to the hotel that we would be staying in. The best thing about the money Kenton’s family could spare? They had booked the entire hotel for just my family for the wedding. It was amazing.
