Just Friends

Chapter 8

A few months pass since my sister came home and me and hunter were on pretty good terms, we were just friends and I was perfectly happy with it being that way. Me and this Justin guy went out a couple times but it just didn't work out personally there was no spark. So now it's June and the weekend before the last week of school, I'm so excited for the summer but I'll miss all my new friends that I've made and I can't believe I've made it through my first year of high school.

"Honey, get down here come join me and Kathy for breakfast" my dad shouted from the kitchen "coming daddy" I shouted back quietly, I walked out of my room and to the kitchen, honestly I was expecting pancakes and a fruit basket but it was cereal... Boring. Anyway we all said good morning and ate in silence when my phone buzzed in my pocket, I took it out and read:
- Lizzy
Hey wanna hang out today I'm so boreddd
I slightly laughed at this and replied:
-ya sure meet at the park :)
I replied, the park was kind of our place were we would hang out not to have fun but to talk and honestly I just really wanted to talk to someone at the moment. I quickly dressed up in a tank top a skirt and cute little flats, it felt so nice to just not care about what I was wearing when I'm with Lizzy.

I just strolled over to were the park was and I hadn't realized before but the park was in Hunter's neighbourhood and then I felt a quick panicky when I realized that he could se me like this.. Almost half naked and I felt so embarrassed. After an hour of swinging back and forth on the swing Lizzy finally arrived. "Hey bestie" she said too loudly for my liking I was still tired from the morning and was in deep thought. I laughed a bit and said hi back she sat on the swing next to me and it felt so natural talking to her.

At the time being Lizzy was actually dating Mike, yes Mike, Hunter's "brother".
"Lizzy?" I called her after we just sat in a comfortable silence. "Tessa?" She said my name mocking the way I said hers and giggled and then went back to being serious. "Will you and Mike break up?" I asked just wondering since they didn't seem really close and the school year was already over. She sighed and answered back to me "yeah I think so, at the moment we aren't so close but I'm sure we'll stay friends I still really like him but we don't have to date, it's not really my style." She finished off saying confidentially, I laughed at how she said dating wasn't her style and just thought that's my girl and started to laugh even harder.

We both went home later and by the time I reached home it was 6 and I was starving, I grabbed something to eat and went up to my room and read.

Hey, Tessie
I laughed once I remembered that Hunter change his contact name on my phone to Hotty and started to blush a little.
-Hey Hotty ;)
I replied trying to tease him a bit and laughed at myself, ugh omg I'm acting so girly.
- Hotty
Why were you at the park on your own? I would've came up to you but you seemed like you were in very deep thought or am I wrong?
He said to me and I felt slight discomfort knowing he was watching me or just saw me alone thinking, It must of looked depressing.
- I wasn't alone I was waiting for Lizzy
That's all I said and he didn't reply so I went back to reading my book and fell asleep.

Click click what the heck is that sound I woke up and checked the time on my phone it was 11 pm that's strange what's at my window. I open it up and then a pebble hit me right on the forehead instead of the window, I rubbed my head and slowly rubbing my eyes to get them fully open and that's when I saw Hunter standing outside throwing small pebbles at my window, if that couldn't get any cheesier he said later.. Reponzel Reponzel let down your hair. After that I just couldn't hold my laughter in and just started laughing and he just stood there looking up at me and smiling.
"Wait there, I'm coming down" I shouted to him, as I shut my window threw on a light jacket and walked out.

"Hey babe" he said a bit too loud since I was standing right in front of him, I didn't just hear how loud he was I smelt alcohol coming from his breath and that's when I realized he was completely drunk. My mood switched straight to concerned "have you been drinking?" I asked him even though I already knew the answer I just needed to hear it from him.

He became serious and didn't reply until a bit later he looked up at me and stared into my eyes "I'm so sorry Tessie" he said I looked a bit more carefully at his face and realized he was crying. I took a step closer to him and wrapped my arms around him then whispered into his ear "Hunter you did nothing wrong" he started to cry harder onto my shoulders and we just stayed there like that on my porch for a good 5 minutes.
"Do you want to come inside?" I asked him with a smile on my face looking straight into his eyes. He wasn't sure what to say so he slightly nodded. I opened the back door for the both of us to enter we went up stairs to my room he was drifting off into sleep and we were both tired I layed him down onto my bed and said goodnight at the door. I was leaving when I heard something "wait don't go, stay" he asked and he had a rough night and I couldn't say no so I took my shoes off and got into the bed with him. We were so close it felt like I couldn't breath..... and then I fell asleep in his arms. Again.
