I was just waking up when there was a knock on my door. After about 5 minutes I managed to push myself out of bed in nothing but a pink sports bra, yoga shorts, and my hair in the messiest state. I grabbed my glasses off the night stand as I walked to open the door.
"Hey, I was, um..." Luke trailed off as he looked at me.
I couldn't help but laugh, he's seen me like this so many times, yet it's always the same reaction.
"Um, right, I was wondering if you wanted to skate around and maybe get some lunch or ice cream?" Luke stuttered.
"Let me shower, and change. I'll come over when I'm ready." I laughed as I shut the door and heard him walk across the hall.
I quickly ate a protein bar and drank a water before I showered. I pulled out one of my favorite outfits for this type of weather, considering even in spring the temperature is 18/65 degrees and sunny. I wore a gray crop top, high waist acid wash jeans, and white J. Crew vans. I put on some BB cream to hide a little acne, eyeliner, mascara, and bright pink lipstick. I changed out my plugs and industrial while making sure I had my mom's ring. I quickly sprayed myself with perfume, tugged on a blue beanie, grabbed sunglasses, my penny board, and threw my phone in my purse.
I walked across the hall and knocked on the door. Once again, Calum opened the door.
"Hey, Lacy." He said as he let me in.
'Hey, Cal." I looked around for Luke.
"Cal, did you hide my penny board?" Luke asked as he came in the room, pulling down his green beanie.
"You mean the one under your suitcase?" I giggled as I pointed to the wheel sticking out.
Luke mumbled something under his breath as Calum and I laughed our asses off.
"Alright, now that two have had your fun, let's go, Lace." Luke said as he grabbed my hand, instantly shutting me up, making me sweat.
"Aw, cuties!" Calum screamed before Luke closed the door.
We walked down the hall to the elevator, just holding hands before I decided to break the silence.
"You excited?"
"For what?" He looked at me as if I was mental.
"Tomorrow." Was all I said and he knew I was talking about flying out to meet the other boys in Ireland for more rehearsal.
"Oh, yeah, I mean, I guess."
"You don't seem that excited." I bumped his hip.
He smiled over at me, "Well, you're staying, so I guess I'll be fine."
I looked down knowing there was red creeping up my cheeks and guilt in the back of my head.
We got off the lift and Luke tried to grab my hand, but I pushed him off.
"Do you really want the fans to get the wrong idea?" I bit my lip, wishing I didn't have to say those words.
"Right." He looked down, red now creeping up his neck.
We got outside, placed our boards down and took off down the streets of downtown Sydney. We used to do this all the time, go into the city just to skate around downtown. Today, it's like nothing's changed. We're still laughing about stupid stuff, talking over nothing, and just going around the streets.
"Ice cream?" He looked over and asked me, I nodded my head.
We went to a small ice cream shop, where we used to go as kids. I kicked up my board and placed it under my arm, and Luke did the same. I felt very reminiscent about everything today, almost as if we were 14 again. It's funny, the same man who owned the place was still at the counter.
