Chapter 10:

Two days later I go to see my mom. She was put in a room yesterday. I walk into her room and she sleeping but still looking really bad. I can't seeing her like this. It is breaking my heart. My mom has always been there for me I don't know what I would do without her. I want her to see her grandbaby born and see me get married. I can't lose her. They have done a lot of tests but as far as I know they still don't know what is wrong with her.

I sit in the chair next to her bed. I place my hand gently on hers. I don't want to wake her up. I guess she feels my hand though because she wakes up. " Hey hunny why are you crying." She says with a tone almost like a zombie.

I didn't even know I had started crying. " No reason momma. You know this pregnancy has me all emotional almost all of the time."

" Maddie I want to let you know that I will be there for the birth of my grandchild. No matter what I will fight whatever this is. I am not leaving this world without a fight."

She wipes my tears. " I know momma."

We then watch tv while I hold her hand.

Later on when I got back to my mom's house Donna is there waiting for me. As soon as I walk into the living room she walks up to me and hugs me. " How is momma doing?"

" She still isn't looking good if anything she looks worse. She says she will be here to see my baby born but I don't know."

" You know as well as I do she is a fighter. She will fight and beat this. She will be there to see our baby born. She also will be there to see us get married when the day comes."

" Who knows I may marry Amy."

" You know that I am the one for you. Your mom loves me and I even call her momma. Why do you act like you can't decide between Amy and I."

" I don't want to talk about our love triangle right now. If you can't just be here for me then I will go home to Amy because I know that she won't bring it up."

" No no I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up and I'm dropping it. Come cuddle and watch tv with me."

We go and lay in my room and we cuddle. We find a movie and watch it.

Later on I go home. When I walk I yell to her that I'm here. She comes to me and wraps her arms around me. She kisses me and I kiss her back. " How is your mom doing?"

" She is getting worse it seems. I can't lose her."

" I know baby girl. Isn't it visting hours?"

I nod.

" Well Why don't we go to the hospital and see her. I want to put a fire up the doctors asses. As soon as we find out what is wrong with her I can pay for the best doctors in the world to care for her. I want her to be there for when our baby is born."

I just kiss her. We go to the hospital. We walk into the room and mom is watching tv. She turns to us and says, " Well who is this?"

" Mom this is Amy."

" Hi miss. I'm sorry that we have to meat like this."

" It's ok at least we are meeting. You can call me Jill."

They shake hands. The doctor comes up and says, " Madison can I please talk to you?"

" Hunny we will be fine go talk to the doctor." My mom says with a weak smile.

I walk out. We walk into a office. He says, " So your mom has a very rare type of bone cancer. It never showed up in any test before she came here even though she has had it for a while. Her body is trying to eat her alive as you can see. There may not be anything we can do about it. She will just get worse. She probably only has six months to live if even that."

" Thank you for telling me doctor."

" I wish I had better news."

I nod my head and start crying. He leaves me but before he goes he lets me know that I can stay in here as long as I need.

I take five minutes and the take a deep breath. I walk back to my mom's hospital room. I find her and Amy laughing. Amy hears me come in and looks up at me. " Baby girl are you ok?"

" Can I talk to you out in the hall."

She nods and walks to a privet place with me. " The doctor says she has six months to live at the most. She has a rare bone cancer that she has had for a while but was never found. They can't do anything to help her."

" I will make phone calls. We will fight until her last day to save her if we need to. Now go be with your mom."

I nod and she gives me a hug. I hig her back. I then went back into my mom's room. The doctor is just getting done talking to her. She is in tears. He walks out. I go and take her hand.

" So I only have six months at the most. Hopefully I will see my grandbaby before I pass. If I don't though then I will watch over him or her. I'm going to shave my head tomorrow. It has been falling out for a while now anyways. Where did Amy go? I really like her."

" She is a good person. Now you know why I'm having a hard time deciding between her and Donna. To answer your question she has gone to make phone calls. She is going to get you the best health care money can buy. We will fight until your last day if you want."

" I'm not giving up but she doesn't have to pay for my care."

" But I want to." Amy says walking back in. " I have found a few doctors who know how to handle this type of cancer. We will interview each one of them if you are up to it."

" Yes I am up for it thank you."

" Don't mention it. It is the least I can do for you raising the most amazing person in the world."

My mom just nods with tears in her eyes.
