Player Of The Year

Chapter 12:

Amy and I go to the doctors. I am five months today. We are hoping that we can see the sex. I really hope my baby isn't shy and will show us. We don't care if it is a boy or a girl as long as it is healthy. I know ever parent says that but we really mean it.

They call us back. The nurse hands me a gown to put on. She walks out and I put it on. I lay on the table. Amy sits next to me and holds my hand. The doctor is soon walking in. She puts the jelly on me and start rolling the part of the machine that can look into my belly.

She moves it around a few times before finding the baby. The baby is getting so big. The doctor says, " All the vitals are good and your weight is good. Are we ready to see if we can see the sex."

" Yes we are." Amy and I say at the same time.

The doctor moves down the baby body. She has to try a few different positions but then we see it. " You see that little thing on the screen? That means you are having a boy congratulations."

Amy and I smile at eachother. I just hope he is nothing like his no good dad. She kisses me and I kiss her back. The doctor gives me some wipes and walks out. I wipe the jelly off before putting the clothes back on. When we walk out the lady at the desk hands me pictures of the baby. I smile and thank her. We walk out holding hands.

Later on when I go to my mom's house Donna is there. I had called her and told her to come over. She hugs me. " So did you find out the sex of our baby?"

I show her the picture. She smiles and says, " That's gonna be our little man."

I smile and kiss her. I feel bad because I haven't picked who I am going to be with yet. I know I should do it soon because if not then it will be harder for the one I don't pick the bigger I get.

We have to go get my mom so Donna is going to drive. We grab our things and leave. When we get to the hospital I can't wait so I tell my mom the sex. She smiles and for the first time in a long time it reaches her eyes.

She looks so much better then she did. She has her color and voice back. She hugs me and I hug her back. The nurse then wheels her out to the car. She gets in the front seat and I get in the back. Donna then starts driving my mom home.

When we finally get back home my cousin Shelby is there. She has come to help my mom with anything she needs. My aunt knows that I won't be able to do everything between collage and me being pregnant.

I hug my cousin and so does my mom. Donna says hey and Shelby says hey back.

After I get my mom settled in I go and call Amanda. I say, " It's a boy."

She screams into the phone and I laugh. She says, " I want to see a picture of my nephew."

" Ok hold on."

I take a picture of the picture and send it to her. A minute later she says, " Awe he is already so handsome."

That makes me smile. " Oh has momma come home yet?"

" Yeah we just got her here and Shelby is already here."

" Well that's good."

We talk for another ten minutes about random shit and then hang up.
