Annie's POV I woke up and my knuckles were white from clutching the locket so tightly. After, rather painfully, stretching out my hands I also got a shock when I saw my reflection. Long black streaks trailed down my face, fanning out like the roots of a plant at the bottoms of my cheek. i must have forgotten to take my mascara off.
After showering and washing my face clean, I walked back to my bed and sat with knees folded up against my chest and my head on my knee. Just then my phone lit up and I saw that I had a list of notifications. All of my friends and I have a group message on iMessage and I scrolled to the top of the list where a girl called Louise posted "i have got a surprise for all of us tonight. Just a little thing but I want all you there"
I sighed as I read the last bit "especially you Annie, as a pre Christmas celebration" ergh! I chucked my phone down. I knew Louise too well and she would have informed my parents about this and made sure that I would be there.
I picked up my duvet and wrapped it round myself and shuffled down the stairs and into the kitchen. I sat down on the breakfast bar stool and stared at the cupboard, focusing on trying to make a packet of Cheerios fly out of the cupboard and into my mouth. I jumped as I heard the kitchen door slam and turned as my mum walked in. "Louise phoned last night... Annie stop being lazy and get a bowl of cereal. Anyway so Louise is coming by at 5 with all the girls so you can all get ready for tonight today. Won't that be nice?" I grunted as I shoved the Cheerios into my mouth.
Suddenly I dropped the spoon in my hand and it cluttered down onto the bowl making a loud noise. "Mwheres Mmwwobbie?!" I urgently yelled , spraying the counter in front if me in milk. Swallowing hard I tried again "where's Robbie?" My mum blinked a couple of times staring at the milky mess on the counter. "I hope you are going to-" she began to say "Yes if course Ill clean it up but where's Robbie?" "He left early this morning, he's heading off to a festival and will be back tomorrow" "Ergh!" I moaned, bringing my head down onto the table. "We'll it's nice to see you guys are finally getting along" my mother said as she walked out of the kitchen. Leaving me to continue eating my Cheerios and , despite myself, already planning my outfit for tonight.
