As i've said before,
Here is chapter 20!

Yayy, i actually managed to update 2 chapters in a week.
Since it's holiday season, might as well give more chapters to you guys!

Also, you might find something different in this chapter since i'm actually writing it in someone else's POV beside Alex and Alice.

It's Xavier's!

Yes, i need to write it from his pov because it is related to the problem. It will clearly tell all the details about Scarlet too.

So, i think this won't be the only chapter of his pov. Maybe there will be 2/3 chapters with his/ Scarlet's pov.

Don't worry about Alex and Alice, you might not read about them for a while but i promise they will be anytime sooner!

Enjoy reading!

-Xavier-

When did this even happen? I didn't know even the slightest hint about this whole marriage thing. Dad didn't tell me, nor mom did. Am i not a part of the family?

I watched Alex and Alice walked out of my house. I slammed my door and laid down on my bed. Seriously? They didn't even discuss it with me? I told them about Alex before. I was sure they knew how i close i am to him. I scratched my chest and stroked my hair in an abstract way. I huffed, taking my shirt off and threw it on the floor.

Scarlet might be my step sister but she is still my sister. At least, i could be a part of this thing didn't i? Dad seriously never changed. He didn't. I thought mom could slightly change him, but she failed. I didn't understand why she kept trying to stay with him. If i were her i would throw dad on the street.

Mean much? He deserved it.

He used to abuse my mother a lot. Everyday, there would be another new bruise on her. Each time i asked her if she was sick or not well, she would avoid the topic and changed it to another topic. I thought maybe she bumped into something. But slowly, as day passed by, her bruises gotten even worse than before. I suspected something was definitely going wrong. I didn't know the reason why he became untamed and turned to something beasty, but what i know for sure, his heart left his body behind.

He was heartless. How he kept hitting my mom was horrible. I could hear her screams even from my room. Scarlet wasn't adopted yet, at that time. Yes, she is adopted, she's not related to me or any member of my family. But we treated her like real family.

I didn't know why mom didn't leave dad for good. I never wanted them to separate from each other but rather than having her beaten up everyday? I'd pick the first option.

Even with mom loyally staying with him, he rarely came home. He liked toying around with other women. And it pained me to see how much it ached my mother's heart. He never cared about our family. He never did. And now he's also putting me out of this important thing? He won't have his way.

Alex and i used to play together. Well until i got into college and moved to San Fransisco. I just moved back here weeks ago, never expected to meet him in the broad daylight, out of nowhere. And what surprised me more was that how he treated his girl. I thought Alice must be one of his toy, but he actually dated someone sincerely. That kid sure grew up well.

I got up, yawning and lazily went to Scarlet's room. We definitely needed a brother-sister talk. I knocked her door but i was half awoke, i didn't hear her said 'wait'. And i just opened the door, lazily walking in and i snapped back to realization.
