Sorry guys, school's been taking so much of my time. Hope I didn't make you mad! Happy reading! :3

"Hey, guys," Beryl called to Thalia and I. We were still at the table coming down from our bliss the stew put upon us. I slowly turned my attention to her. "Would you be so kind and go into the kitchen while Gabe and I talk for a moment?"

"Sure," Thalia agreed excitedly and gripped me by the wrist, pulling me out of the small living room. A few seconds later we walk into the kitchen and see Percy sitting on the counter with a dazed look in his eyes.

"Hey, Perce," I called, but he didn't stir from his daze.

"Percy," Thalia sang and shot a small bolt of lightning at him before I could do anything. Percy jumped so hard he fell off the counter and scrambled wildly to get to his feet. He stared at us with wide, feral eyes and his hair stick up in a few places with static electricity.

"Um, ow!" He growled at us and all I did was step away from Thalia and put my hands up in surrender, pointed subtly to my sister. "What was that for?"

"You weren't answering us, so I did the only thing that I thought was necessary," Thalia snarled playfully.

"I'm not rubber! I'm made of water! That hurt like Hade- ... Hell. That hurt like hell." Percy shot a worrying look at me like he was about to give away a big secret.

"I know you're not made of rubber, but I can't do anything else. Would you rather me smack you?"

"Sure," Percy sighed, then he turned away from us and turned on the oven, leaving it to heat.

"What are you making?" I asked and moved to his side as he pulled out a glass pan that was about to size of my forearm, from my fingertips to my elbow.

"Something to go along with the brownies you brought. I was just thinking about it earlier until you so rudely interrupted."

"Hey, it wasn't me. That was Thalia. Even I'm not fast enough to stop lightning," I paused slightly. "So what is this thing you're making to go along with the brownies?"

"Peach cobbler. My mother used to make this all the time for me, when I was younger, except ... the brownies, they were blue."

"What's so special about blue?" I asked, but Percy kept quiet.

"It's something he did with his Mom. It's not that important us, so we don't need to get into it." Thalia answered me and Percy nodded absentmindedly, his hands still collecting ingredients from the fridge and cabinets.

"Oh yeah! About your ... " I watched Thalia having a silent spaz attack at the other end of the small kitchen, her hand slicing across her throat frantically, the universal signal to shut up. "Uh ... What was I going to say?" I scratched my head and lunged towards Thalia slightly to say 'I got it'.

"She's dead if that's what Thalia was frantically trying to stop you from asking," Percy sighed, yet he still didn't waver his speed on the preparations. "She was the best person you could ask for to be a mother. Too bad, though, I guess it's the fucked up circle of life. Sickness just picks off its targets, doesn't even give them a warning, kind of like a sniper. Silent and deadly, but not until you come into the open, then," Percy put his hand up in a gun position before quietly shouting "Bang!" Making Thalia and I flinch. "You're dead."

I stared at Percy as he went back to making the dessert like nothing had just happened. I, for one, just sat there in idiotic shock from the truth and Percy's actions.

"Close your mouth or you'll get drool all over the peach cobbler." Percy planted four fingers under my chin and pushed up, efficiently shutting my mouth.
