I panicked. In the state between wanting to stay and leaving the scene completely, I lost myself. My thoughts rushed forward, allowing me to act in a way I'd never had expected.
It wasn't intentional, but somehow this hadn't felt right. Especially with the aspect of incest running thickly. Shivering, I backed away from his soft touch, eyeing the floor and refusing to meet his gaze.
His shadow shifted across the floorboards as he stood taller with an arm reached out for me in an attempt to initiate contact once more.
'I-I can't...' My voice wavered off slightly at the end, giving him a few moments to process whatever I had managed to say.
'Ji-U-'
'No Taehyung. I can't do this, not when you- no.' Cutting myself off, I looked up momentarily, reading the oddly calm expression he wore, masking what I was sure to be frustration.
He was extremely patient, waiting with his arm extended out and a confused smile reaching his lips.
'I understand you're not ready, but I'm not given much of a choice right now. If it were up to me, I'd let you go in a heartbeat. Can't you at least try to comprehend what type of situation I'm stuck in?'
He'd let me go in a heartbeat. I was disappointed in myself, angry that I allowed my own emotions to intervene with what was truly important. The possibility that he had absolutely no type of feeling towards anyone else but his sister.
It absolutely irked me.
'I get it. No, I get it now,' finding our stances amusing, a slight laugh left my lips, leaving me feeling dejected and somber.
'I'm only here to create an 'heir.' After that, I suppose my work here is done, right?'
Silently, he cocked his head to the side curiously, trying to see what I was hinting at. I knew deep down that he took the circumstanced for granted without truly seeing my perspective in any of this.
'What's wrong, Ji-U. You're not acting like yourself. Was it something I said earlier?'
I couldn't help to think about his sister, her image deteriorating every speck of humanity away from him. The atmosphere made it harder for me to even look in his direction. It was disgusting.
'I n-need to go. Good night, sir.' Without another word, I turned to walk away from him, and found it harder to step away from his being. To my dismay, he hadn't followed or moved from his spot, even when I closed the door behind me.
The large hallway was illuminated by the moonlight streaming in from the bay window. Lace curtains flew away from the glass panels in a fluid motion, reflecting the breezy weather outside.
My feet felt heavy as I unsteadily took one more step into the hallway. Jelly seemed to be the only thing occupying my brain as I had nearly failed to notice the light streaming from under one of the rooms on the far left of the hallway, next to upper story bathroom.
It was Jungkook's room, who would usually be sleeping at such a late hour. Frowning, I couldn't walk away from the weird occurrence and decided to check up on what was going on before heading back to my room.
Trudging forward, silent whispering was barely audible from inside, what seemed to be more of a debate than a conversation.
Tired mentally and physically, I reached for the doorknob and slowly inched the wooden door open.
A bright desk lamp was turned on, facing towards the door and blinding me for a few moments. Shielding the illumination with my hand, I took in the heaps of papers stacked on the floor and the solar system made completely from origami paper hanging lopsided.
Splotches of blood tainted some of the white Polaroid photos on the wall of him and his colleagues, now barely recognizable.
'I didn't, oh lord, I didn't...' Incoherent mumbling came from a corner as a frightened Jungkook sat with his back to the wall, pointing to a lying form on the floor.
A pool of blood formed around her clothing and pretty facial features.
Taehyung's sister. Her blouse was torn apart in the front, a long rip running from the hem of her skirt to her thigh. She was unconscious from the lack of blood, multiple bite marks on her neck, legs, and chest.
Slowly, I closed the door behind me and leaned over her body, smearing the blood with my trembling fingertips.
Looking up at him, he flinched away, avoiding my eyes completely.
'Jungkook, why would you do this? You're an Alaria, did you suddenly forget that for a moment? Was attacking her really worth it?'
'Shut up!' Yelling out, it was my turn to flinch away from his harsh voice, his head colliding with the wall behind him as he stared up at the ceiling.
'Sh-she started it.'
'What did she say.'
'She started it, she fucking started it, yeah. That's it.'
'Jungkook,' I uneasily coaxed him in a calmer tone, 'What did she say?'
'Get away from me. You're no better than her, not after sleeping with Taehyung.' Snarling, he furiously hurled a glass paper weight at me, purposely missing but wanting to spook me.
'After all that I've done for you, everything we've gone through. Everything, Ji-U. You still throw me away like trash, like this meant absolutely nothing to you.'
'What are you talking about?' I was surprised no one had woken and come in by the raise in our voices.
'I loved you, Ji-U. I tried time and time again to warn you of what kind of person Taehyung is, but none of it matters.'
Lifting up his hand, he pointed to the door once more.
'Get out, you whore, before I rip your throat out.'
