Crawford's POV:

I wake up on the floor right below Nia, who is on the sofa. When I get up, I fill two glasses up with water for Nia and Jasmine.

Where's Chris?

I go to where Jasmine is and see Chris right next to her, with his arms wrapped around her.

I wish I could do that to Nia.

I sit on the floor near Nia and turn the television on. As I turn it on, Nia starts moving around.

"Are you awake?" I whisper.

"No. I'm skydiving." we laugh. "God, I feel like crap."

"Do you not remember yesterday?"

"Not at all... wait... where am I?" she says popping up. "Where's Jas?!" she starts freaking out.

"Chill! Her and Chris are in the other room sleeping on another sofa." I say. She looks at me and goes wide-eyed.

"Crawford?!"

"Ok... What the fuck happened last night?" she says, making me laugh. I hand her a mirror. "Whoah! Who fucked up my face?" I start laughing even more.

"So you and Jasmine apparently got really drunk last night. I realized that you weren't around anymore so I asked Chris if he saw Jasmine. You both were gone, and we thought you left until we heard some other girls talking about how Erica beat the shit out of you both." I partially told the truth.

"Jasmine too?! She's okay, right?!--- Ow! It hurts to move my mouth..." she said holding her face.

"Jasmine is fine, you're obviously not. Come here." I say getting up to get the glass of water and a wet cloth for her face. I start dabbing her face. She stares at me for a while and I smile. "Yes?" I say laughing a bit.

"Why are you being nice right now..?"

"When am I not nice to you?"

"Well why are you not making me clean my face myself?"

"Nia, you just got the shit beaten out of you a couple of hours ago."

"Ok true." she finally shuts up.

"Wait... You're parents won't care that you are here, right?" I ask. She looks down, a bit sad. "Oh, did I say something?" I say a bit nervous.

"Um, no. It's fine. It's just that my dad left before I was even one and my mom drinks, I'm pretty sure she won't care if I lived here." she jokes even though I wouldn't mind if she did. "You're parents don't care that me and Jas are here though, right?" she asks.

"Actually... I don't have parents." I say.

"Oh my god, I'm so stupid. I'm sorry." she says.

"No! It's totally fine." I say making sure she doesn't worry about it. Finally, I say the most stupid thing to say when it's awkward. "Nia... do you.. hate me?" but at least she replies.

"No. Crawford you basically saved my life last night. Thanks by the way." How was she so cool about getting beat up?! I wanted to kill Erica so much for even touching Nia.

"But did you ever hate me before?" I add on, realizing that I'm making things worse.

"Well, I didn't hate you, but I didn't really like you... I just thought that you acted too cool for everyone. But I like you now!" my eyes get wide when she says that. "OH!" she says and covers her mouth. "Ahaha... Can we like, forget this happened..." she laughs awkwardly. I start laughing.

"You wanna get out of here? I don't know where but I'm bored here..." I say, crossing my fingers secretly and hoping she'll say yes.

"But I look gross!"

"It's just a couple of bruises. Please?" I beg. As she gets up she crashes to the floor. "Nia!! What is it?!"

"My ankle. It hurts! I can barely move it." I start to panic.

"Come on." I say bending down so she can get on my back. She hops on and I run to the car to bring her to the emergency room.
