An Hour Later

I wake up to someone smoothing my hair. I roll on my side. I open my eyes and see Lawrence shirt I close my eyes quickly.

"Y'know there's something beautiful, like killer beautiful about you when you're sleeping," He says so low that if I didn't know better I would've thought he was talking to himself.

"What? I don't talk?" I ask looking up at him, I smile a little and he grins.

"No," He says.

"I'm relaxed, calm," I say, he nods.

"You're at peace," He says. I smile softly, closing my eyes again. I sigh contently. He smooths my hair again.

"I didn't know you had a sweet or touching side to you," I say, he doesn't say anything.

"It's nice," I say.

"You've got a vulnerable side to you. I think I like that side of you better. It helps me understand you better," He says, I shrug.

"Wanna know something," He asks, I nod.

You said something before you fell asleep," He says, I nod again.

"Don't tell Lawrence, he's sorta becoming my bestfriend this summer, maybe longer," I open my eyes and look at Lawrence.

"Why is it so easy to confide in me for a second then you're taking everything back?" He asks.

"Because you're my friend. I wanna keep it that way," I say.

"Because?" He says.

"Because. . .," I start but stop.

"Do you have a reason, to why you want to only remain friends with me?" He asks.

"I don't want that friendship to ever. . . y'know end. It's always been the Three Stooges. You, Zen and me. We've been friends for a while now," I say.

"Why do you separate me?" He asks.

"I know what I said, sleepy or not. I know, well I've known you for a while but now I know another part of you that I've never met before and It's like you said before its nice seeing a vulnerable me, then regular everyday me. So when I said don't tell Lawrence to the 'Ray" side to you it's because I felt like that's the person I kissed not Lawrence, funny, Zendaya's bestfriend since forever Lawrence but Ray," I say, he nods knowingly.

"Why'd you out of the blue start getting touchy-feely on me?" I ask.

"I'm a boy. Plus I, like many other boys had a thing for you but when I kissed you something just-" He says.

"Ignited," I finish nodding, he nods. I sit up and move to sit by the side of him.

"It's all Day's fault. She just had to say something," I joke, Lawrence grins and nod.

"You couldn't just kept flirting with me and I could keep thinking it was just you being your natural boy self and flirting with me. Then we wouldn't have all this mess to contend with," I say dramatically, then I look at Lawrence.

"You flirted with me too," He says nudging me.

"Of course I did," I shrug.

"And I wasn't just following my natural boy instincts or hormones. Because I don't just flirt with anybody," He says, I laugh.

"Aww, so I'm a somebody. Thanks Ray," I joke.

"No problem," He says. I had an urge to kiss him but I didn't.

"You never give in to what you want," He says, I nod.

"Yeah, I'm a bit stubborn." I smile.

"A bit? Try alot. Go ahead. . . do what you want. Kiss me," He says, I giggle and shake my head. He pokes me and I open my eyes.
