Skylar's POV:

I stood up and got in Abrey's face. I was tired of her trynna punk me cuz she ain't nobody. She just glared at me. "Girl you betta get out my face before I beat yo ass." She yelled obviously trying to make everybody look at us. I was about to speak when Alphonzo grabbed me back. "Let me go you need to grab yo bitch!" I screamed. Abreya charged towards me as I got out of Alphonzo'z hold. "I got yo bitch!"she yelled. As soon as she got close I pushed her back then grabbed her by her hair and started punching her in the face. She tried to get up but I wouldn't let her. I was about to stomp her in her face when I felt a strong hold grab me and drag me into the hallway. It was officer Gardner."Young lady calm down!"he screamed as I tried to get loose from his hands. "No let go nigga!" I screamed. He then took me to the office. I was about to run out but he yelled at me in a stern voice to sit down and scared me to a chair.

He began whispering to the principal and then they looked at me. After a few seconds officer Gardner left and the principal began dialing a number. I didn't have to guess who she was calling because I knew she was calling my grandmother. "Hello mam this is principal Rits and Im calling about Skylar." She said. She grew silent I'm guessing to here my grandmothers response. "Yeah we won't send her home but she will be suspended after today for 8 days." Principal Rits said.

"Alright tell her we will talk when she gets home."Skylar's grandmother said on the other end of the phone. "Alrighty then you have a nice day Ms. Williams."Principal Rits replied and then hung up the phone. She then walked over to Skylar folding her arms. "Skylar your such a good student so I'm trying to figure out why your in my office for fighting."Principal Rits said with a frown. Skylar ignored her. "Well if you don't want to talk that's understandable I guess." Principal Rits said. Skylar stayed silent. "Alrighty well your suspended for 8 days and your grandmother says she will talk to you." Principal Rits said. "Can I go to class then."Skylar replied with a snappy additude. "Sure." Principal Rits replied. Skylar soon after got up and stormed out of the front office making her way to class. For the rest of the day she planned to keep to herself. As soon as she walked in class people began whispering and staring. At first Skylar just stood there like a nervous wreck. "Have a seat Ms. Williams." Ms. Yeilds said tapping her foot. Skylar slowly walked to her desk. "You did yo thang." A girl said with a smirk. "You beat her ass." A boy said. "Language."Ms.yeilds yelled out. Skylar started to get lots of compliments as she walked to her desk. She couldn't believe all these people suddenly even knew her name when usually she was invisible. The teacher continued teaching as she sat there in disbelief. People kept talking to her all through class as if they had been her friend since forever. Skylar felt a since of happiness even after school until she remembered she had to face her grandmother when she got home.

Home:

Skylar unlocked her front door taking quiet steps to the stairs. "I know that's you Skylar."her grandmother yelled. Skylar sighed and walked into the kitchen and sat at her counter. "So you fighting now?"her grandmother asked. "Yeah I guess I am."Skylar said soon after regretting her words. Her grandmother turned around in disbelief. "Did you just say yeah and what the hell you got on?!" She yelled. "Grandma I have on clothes."Skylar replied sarcastically. "So you don went from fighting to smart talking yo grandma?"Skylar usually didn't disrespect her grandma but she was so angry and tired of everyone. "And you dressed like some floosy on a corner." Her grandma said."Grandma I ain't got time to be hearing this ight!"Skylar said walking to her room. "Yeah you starting to go down the path yo parents did all in one day."Her grandmother said shaking her head. Skylar stopped in her tracks. You know what fuck you and fuck who ever else wanna judge my parents okay." Skylar screamed as I stormed out of the house.

Skylar's POV:

I didn't know where I was going but I had to get out of that house fast. I couldn't believe my grandma would throw my parents mistakes in my face like that. She knows I'm sensitive about that subject. I know she probably couldn't believe I yelled at her like that though. She was asking for it though. I just walked down the street and thought about things like my parents. You see I never really talk about my parents a lot because I get ashamed but at the same time I love and miss them so much. My parents died five years ago due to drugs and the hood. They sold drugs and did it to. It never really seem to effect anyone much until it got real bad. My mom started to get so high she would forget where she was and who she was. My dad even started to beat me and my mom. One day he just got crazy and shot my mom and then himself.Luckily I was at school or he might've even shot me. Anyways after I found out I got put in a foster home. After three weeks my Grandma adopted me and Ive lived with her every since. So yeah I-. "Hey where you going?" A voice said knocking me out of these thoughts. It was a girl that hangs out with Abreya. "Why?" I asked. "Just was wondering but you whooped Abreya ass I gotta give you your props."She said. "Thanks." I said starting to walk off. "Wait I'm having a party tonight and you seem coo so you invited here's the information."she said holding out a invitation. I walked over to her car and grabbed it. "Hope to see you there its gon be hella lit." She said then she drove off. I looked at the invitation and then stuffed it in my pocket. I was not going. Ring! My phone had got a notification. It was Alphonzo making a status about a party he was going to tonight. I glared at the status then put my phone in my pocket. "Looks like I'm going to a party."I mumbled to myself turning back around to my house.
