There was a knock on the door.
"This is the military! Open up or we'll open ourselves!" A male voice outside the front door said. Kevin went and opened the door.
"How can I help you, mr..." Kevin asked.
"Dartry. General Dartry." The human entered rudely in the house, followed by a female subordament with a bag in her left hand. "This is Lieutenant Kurdrikow. She has to take blood samples from everyone, including your dog." He stared at Aleks.
"Why? I thought it was every year!" Steven asked "Two weeks ago we took our blood shots for an escapee changebrid!"
"We're trying to find a different one, one that we've been searching for 2 years. His name is Aleksandr Vitaly. We want to capture every DEMON CHANGER before the rebellion grows even stronger." General Dartry said in a harsh voice, starring at the husky. The lieutenant indicated for Kevin and Steven to sit down. She looked at some files from her bag.
"Well, you two are ok but you're dog doesn't have any information, nor any files..." Kurdrikow said, preparing a needle for Aleks. She entered the needle and the dog yelped back in pain. She took 2 samples then took the needle out. A bit of blood came out of the dog's forleg so she bandaged it. For a lieutenant against the rebellion, she was pretty nice to the suspected changebrid.
"We'll give you the results tomorow." General Dartry went twoards the front door. But before he exited, he turned back, starred at Aleks then said: "be careful, sometimes anything isn't what it seems.".
2 hours skip....
Steven and Kevin were watching the tv, starring at their dog every 5 seconds.
'Could Immortal be that Russian changebrid the general was talking about? It would explain alot of things...'Steven thought and flattened his ears at the thought. He sighed then started to speak. "Hey Immortal? Please be honest with us." The dog buried his face in his bed, like if he knew what he was about to say next. "Are you a changebrid?" The dog didn't move an inch. "It's ok, we won't get mad." Kevin said.
The husky let out a sigh and walk towards the tv, then turning facing them. His dog form changed into a 16 year old teenager. He had a black t- shirt on and a pair of shorts.The boy's eyes looked down, waiting for them to just throw him out on the street. But instead, he was hugged by Steven. To the boys surprise, Steven just said: "Thank you."
He sat down beside the spot Steven was sitting before and Steven sat where he was before. After a moment of silence, Kevin spoke.
"Why didn't you tell us before hand?"
The russian looked down at his bare feet. "I didn't know how you would react. I mean, you guys are basically helping a fugitive."
More question was asked through out the night. The last question he asked was not even about Aleks. "So, do you want to sleep in the bed tonight?" Steven asked. It brighten up Aleks's mood. It got a faint smile on his face. "I take that as a yes." Kevin said, letting out a chuckle.
They all prepared to go to bed. Steven and Kevin prepared the pull up couch for themselves while Aleks put on some clothing that Steven lent him for the night.
"Goodnight Immortal" Steven and Kevin said at the same time.
"Goodnight" Aleks said back as he drifted into dreamland. The next morning, Aleks wrote a note and left in on the counter. He tiptoed to the front door and exited the house, then sitting on the porch step. The note read:
Dear Steven and Kevin,
I don't want to drag you guys already even more down with me. I'm turning myself in for the exchange of your safety. Yes, i'll be going to that god awful place. But of it's to keep the people i owe my life safe, i'll take the risk. I hope you guys live a happy and long life,

Ps: I did the bed and put the clothing Steven gave me on the bed too.
