"Rehab for anger management and alcohol abuse...for how long?" Lauren tilted her head towards the computer screen, Y/N skimmed the next couple of lines.
"Two months minimum." She read aloud, glancing back at Lauren. The raven-haired girl sighed, not very fond of the idea.
Harry smiled smugly, "The center looks like a resort, I'm sure you'll love it."
"I'll do anything to work things through with you, Camz." She placed her hand over Camila's, Harry rolled his eyes and continued to walk past them, "I'd do anything to make you feel safe again. I guess I'd better start packing-"
"I packed your bags while you were away last night! I knew you'd agree!" Camila clapped her hands together, smiling widely at her wife.
Louis popped his head in from around the corner, "We enrolled you into the rehabilitation center already, you leave today."
"I'm driving you so say your goodbyes, Lauren." Zayn slipped on his leather jacket, checking the time on his watch.
"You're not allowed to have your phone so take this," Y/N tossed an mp3 player in Lauren's direction, the girl caught it effortlessly, eyeing the old contraption in her hands.
A jingle from Zayn's keys signaled them to hurry up so Lauren stepped up, "Thank you for not giving up on me, I promise I'll get better-"
"I don't want your empty promises, Lauren." Y/N glared at her friend, "Focus on yourself, show me you can change." Lauren nodded firmly, following Y/N's finger when she pointed in Camila's direction.
"Show your wife she can trust you not to hurt her."
Lauren nodded once more, shaking the mp3 in her hand as a show of gratitude before she walked away with Zayn and Camila. Y/N followed the trio, watching them from the doorstep.
Zayn fixed Lauren's luggage in the trunk while Camila pulled Lauren aside for a final conversation. Y/N's teeth grinded against each other as Lauren laughed obnoxiously, it had to be at one of Camila's corny jokes. Lauren's switch in dispositions was beginning to get under her skin.
"Do you really think rehab will help Lauren?" Liam forced himself in the doorway, standing shoulder to shoulder with his sister. He bit into his apple, Y/N cringed at the crunching noise.
He glanced over, speaking through a mouthful, "Cause I think it's bullshit."
A flash of rage overtook Y/N's body. Between Liam's comments and seeing the married couple's goodbye kiss, she fell into its trap.
"You don't know what's best for anyone, and quite frankly, I don't care about your opinion." Y/N snapped, shoving past her brother. Liam's apple rolled away from his hand, he watched it tumble under the living room table.
"Maybe you should join Lauren for an anger management course."
As Liam finished his snarky remark, he was shoved against the wall. The veins in his sister's forearm pulsated as she rested her body weight against it to keep him pinned down. Liam swallowed roughly, looking over at his blue-eyed brother for help. Niall quickly rushed over, grabbing his sister's shoulders to pull her off.
"Get off!" Y/N let go of Liam to shove Niall down to the floor. His hands moved to clutch his knee, Y/N's wrath dismissed itself from her body as she met Niall's pained eyes. Harry walked over to spark an argument with Liam for provoking his sister while Louis tended to Niall.
"Liam's got a point," Louis admitted, continuing to prod at Niall's injury. He glanced up for a moment, "You and Harry have gotten better, but there are relapses. Today with you, yesterday with Harry. What makes you think Lauren will do better?"
