Standard disclaimers. I don't own the characters. They are the creation of the lovely Ms. Stone. This is an idea in my head. Hope you like it.
Sang
Sang loved Christmas. She loved watching the decorations going up everywhere, the joy in everyone's faces, the smell of cookies. Everything. She especially loved the Christmas songs. Growing up she didn't see much of seasons joy in her house. But that didn't matter to her. She found joy on her own. She would turn on her little radio and sing along with all the songs.
This year it'll be different. This year she'll have her Christmas with the boys. She'll make their Christmas memorable. They'll probably spend most of the days with their families or with academy things like they did on Thanksgiving but she'll ask them for dinner and make a feast. Making up her mind she took out her phone and started looking through recipes of things she can make. She was good at following recipes. She started humming with the songs playing on the radio. She was having fun.
Owen
Christmas always reminded him of his mother. She made his Christmas special even with all the problem. She made his favorite dishes and hid them from his father. Got him a present with whatever money she managed to put away. She filled the day with love.
After his mother was gone he just lived his days without any celebration. He did the academy activities with his team. After they went to spend the day with their families and themselves he went home by himself and stayed there.
He walked in to Nathan's house hoping to spend a little time with Sang before everyone else came for the meeting he called. The academy wanted to meet Sang at the New Year's party. They needed to be prepared.
Walking in through the he heard singing. Going inside he saw Sang singing along the radio with the phone in her hand and pen and notebook on the side. The look of concentration and joy in her face filled him with longing. He prayed that everything goes according to his plan.
"Hello Ms. Sorenson" he announced himself. Sang looked up from her task and gave him a full blown smile. "Hello Mr. Blackbourne. The boys are not here. Did you need me to do something."
This is the most relaxed he saw her with him. He didn't want to ruin the moment. "No. I'm a little early. May I ask what you were doing"?He knew they weren't here for the meeting yet, he wanted to be with Sang alone for a while. They didn't get enough time together.
Sang looked at him sheepishly. "I was looking at Christmas dinner recipes. I thought maybe I could make dinner for everyone at Christmas. I mean they... We could have dinner together after we finish with everything".
He heard the hesitation and doubt creeping back in her voice. The carefree moment she had was gone.
"That would be great." He told her. He would make it happened.
Sang smiled at him.
"You were singing something when I walked in." He said.
She turned her familiar red. Tomato is what Luke called her.
"Christmas songs on the radio. I love hearing them."
"Did you enjoy Christmas with your family". He thought maybe that one day out of the year Sang enjoyed herself.
"No. My dad gave Marie and me our little presents, usually clothes and then we went to our rooms." She answered him sadly. "But I love everything about Christmas. The decorations, the songs, the tree, cookies... Everything". She lit up. She told him about her time in her little room listening to the songs. Decorating her room. Owen could hear the joy in her voice.
"I'll make this Christmas perfect for you" he thought. He took out his phone and went into the kitchen to make some calls. By the time he was finished all the boys came in. He went out to the living room.
"I could use a cup of coffee Ms. Sorenson, if you are still offering".
Sang jumped up. He rarely asked anything of her willingly.
He signaled the boys to stay put when more than one of them would go help her.
"What the fuck Mr. B! You could've asked us to get the coffee!"Gabriel said loudly.
"Is anything wrong Mr. Blackbourne?" Asked Kota.
"Language Mr. Coleman." He answered. "Nothing is wrong Mr. Lee. I wanted to disscuss something out of Ms. Sorenson's hearing. Turns out Ms. Sorenson is a big fan of Christmas. She had very little chance to enjoy herself with her parents. This is her first Christmas with us. I would like all of us to make it special for her. It's two more weeks till Christmas and I took time off for all of us from the academy."
The boys looked at him shocked. As long as they've known him he has never shown any interest in Christmas.
"What do you want us to do Mr. B" asked Nathan.
He showed them the video he made of Sang earlier when she was talking to him. The boys looked at the expression on her face. It was of longing.
They all looked at each other. A plan forming already.
"We'll need a tree." Nathan said.
"You fuckers better leave the decorations to me".
"Cookies! We need lots of cookies" Luke was already dreaming of sugar.
"You better not give her too much sugar Luke. Baby will be bouncing off the wall with you" growled North.
"We need presents for Pookie" Sean said.
That stopped all the talking. What will she like? They listened to her hum with the music on the radio. She was happy.
"I know what to give her" Victor jumped up.
"We each need to get her presents ourselves" Gabriel spoke looking a little pensive.
"We will. Listen...." Victor laid out the plan to them. When he was finished they all laughed. This is the best idea ever.
"Then we all agree"? Owen asked. "Then let's get started. It's only two weeks till Christmas.
