Twelve Days of Christmas

Doubts and chocolate

Sang was sitting in Kota's living room the next morning. Luke, North and Nathan had to go help uncle at the diner. Two of his workers called out sick and there was too much work to do for Christmas. Sang wasn't complaining, she understood. and truth be told she was a little tired from the last few days nonstop activities. Kota was with Victor doing something for another team. Silas at home with his father. She enjoyed herself but she needed rest. she also wanted the time to think about what she wanted to give the boys for Christmas. It was the process of choosing something special for each boy, having someone take her to the mall to buy it and keeping it from the boys, especially Victor who would insist on paying foe them was scaring her. She had to be very careful.

Gabriel chose that moment to walk in. "Meanie!" Sang jumped up and gave him the tightest hug. he could take her to the mall.

"So, you Happy to see me" smirked Gabriel.

Sang waited until he sat down, then curled up on his lap. "could you take me to the mall Meanie?" she asked softly.

"you need something? let me call victor. hell meet us there." Gabriel was excited at the prospect of shopping. Before he could start calling Victor Sang grabbed his Phone.

"I don't want to take Victor." she told him. "I want to buy something with my own money. I have some from working at the diner."

"But we always get you stuff" Gabriel sounded confused. sang struggled to explain herself.

"Meanie, I want to get all of you Christmas gifts. and I don't want to use Victor's money for it. I can't go to the mall by myself and seeing how i never went shopping I thought you could help me."

Gabriel still was looking at her confused. "you don't need to get us anything Trouble! why would you spend your money! I'll just pick up Victors card" he picked up his phone again.

Sang felt her eyes water up. HE didn't understand. He didn't understand that she wanted to do this, needed to do this. she didn't like being dependent on the boys for everything. her food, clothing even daily necessities were taken care of by the boys. She wanted to do this for herself. She walked up the stairs to go into Kota's bedroom. she went into the bathroom and washed her face. the splash of cold water brought some clear thinking. she called the only person she thought could understand. She called Mr. Blackbourne. He picked up his phone immediately.

"Ms. Sorenson" he answered "is everything alright?"

"y..yes" she said quietly on the phone. "Could you maybe call Gabriel and give him something to do right now. he is her at Kota's house with me."

Silence greeted her. She was afraid he was upset with her. "Wait for me to call you back" he said a second later and disconnected the call.

in about two minute Sang heard Gabriel come up the stairs and knock on the bathroom door. "Trouble" he called.

"Yes Meanie"

"Mr. B is sending me to do something on an emergency. You'll be alright here?"

"Yes. I'll be fine. Kota should be back soon" she told him through the closed door.

As soon as Gabriel left her phone rang. "Ms. Sorenson, why did I send Gabriel on a job right now?"

Sang hesitated at first. then she told him everything. her thought about the presents, Gabriel's decision to call Victor and ending with her being in the bathroom to call him. there was complete silence on the other side.

"I'll be there in half hour to pick you up." with that he hung up.

Half and hour later Sang was downstairs waiting for Mr. Blacbourne. She was tense. What if he thought she was being ungrateful.  He came inside and looked at her and nodded.
