HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's currently 1:30am here and I'm realised I had a promise to fulfil!

First chapter of the year! Will I be able to get this complete in 2016? Hmm...

Even though it's the new year, I still don't own Naruto!

(Lian's POV)

God damn it...

Rythian put a finger to his lips and I nodded my head, keeping silent. I was hidden under one bush while Rythian was under another across from me.

Leaf ninja have been sent out to retrieve us, if you are wondering who we're hiding from. The group of ninja stopped in the clearing and were looking around. Hopefully they couldn't tell we were only a couple meters away from them...

"Why do they need to brought back?" one of them whined. "They're just kids..."

"That's exactly why we need to get them back, they won't know what to do out here." Another mentioned.

The other rolled their eyes. "How long till we can head back?"

"How can you be so insensitive - "

"Another week before we run out of supplies." the obvious leader said. "We'll be back before we run out though."

I make eye contact with Rythian and send him a smile which he returns. We've been running away from these guys for about a week, so it will be a relief for them to be finally off our backs.

"Where are we going next, then?"

"The Land of Waves."

"Alright then, let's go then."

The group up and leaves the clearing, and we wait for a couple more minutes before standing up. I walk over to Rythian and link our arms.

"One more week before they finally give up." I grin.

"One more week."

"Alrighty then! So, since they're heading to the Land of Waves, why don't we head off to..." I bring out our handy-dandy map and put it up against the tree.

"The Sand Village?" I offer.

Rythian shakes his head. "We can't go to our village's BFF so soon after leaving, it's a little risky."

"Okay, where can we go then?"

"Well..." Rythian started, rolling the map up. "There's this little town that my mom, dad and I went to years ago which was pretty isolated...we could try there?"

I grinned, picking up my bag. "Sure! Let's go!"

I begin a forward march through the forest, but end up being stopped by Rythian.

"Um..."

"I'm going the wrong way, aren't I?"

"Sort of."

"Ugh...then lead the way, Sir Rythian!"

And off we went to...to...

"Hey, where is it we're even going?" I asked.

"To the Land of Promises."

Wow, sounds like a pretty cool place.
