This chapter is dedicated to one of my closest friends ever in the world, I wouldn't still be here without you, Sierra.
*2 weeks later*
Mirandas pov
I go back to the bar and he said I got the job. Thank Goodness. "Ok Sierra stay back here for mama." A girl not on shift offered to babysit her for me. "Thank you for doing this for me." I say. She smiles and hugs me. "No problem. I've been down on my luck before." I head to my first shift as a bar waitress.
Jason's pov
This is so infuriating. I go down to the bar and she's waitressing there!! I sit down and take out a cigarette. Ever since she left, I've started smoking more and more. And drinking. I'm only in town for a few days since I have to go back on tour. She drops off a couple beers at a table then walks over to me. "Hey, Jason, how's it been?" "Like crap. Other than being on tour." I mutter, glaring at my boots. "What do you want to drink?" She asks. " just a shot of whiskey." "Do you want it on the rocks?" I shake my head and she walks back to the bar. Where's Sierra? She brings over a shot glass and a bottle of Jack Daniels. "So how ya been?" I ask, looking up from my boots to look at her. She's got bags under her eyes and looks exhausted. "I'm fine." "Where's Sierra?" "Someone's babysitting her." My fists clench. "I.... Could... Babysit her?" She sighs, lowering the tray she was carrying and I know that means I can't. "I'm sorry Jason, I wish things didn't end so bad between us." "They don't have to end!" I gasp jumping up. She shakes her head and walks back to the bar. I sigh and sit back down. I take about 4 shots of whiskey before I get the confidence to go talk to her. "Please baby I miss you." "Jason, stop it seriously." She gripes, grabbing some bud lights. "Baby come back to me, I swear I'll make this right. I won't get mad again and Sierra is not an asshole I never even thought that! She can run around naked for all I care I just want my baby girls back! Please!" "Please Jason leave me alone!" She cries, dropping the bud lights and running to the back room. I run back there but someone stops me. "Dammit! Get off me! That's my girlfriend!" I yell. "No I'm not. Go away!" She shouts, tears in her eyes. I better leave. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry." Sierra pulls free and runs to me. "I miss you daddy." I pick her up, fighting back tears myself. "I missed you too baby girl so much." But sadly I have to put her down and go. She's not my daughter no matter how bad I wish she was.
Miranda's pov
*the next morning*
The nice girl who offered to babysit is letting us stay with her. Her name's Rachel. I wish things didn't go south with me and Jason. I really loved him. I start feeling sick to my stomach and lay down. Rachel keeps an eye on Sierra for me. She brings over some soup and a cold compress. "Oh man, girl you're a saint." She smiles and presses it to my forehead. "It's probably stress from that asshole last night." She says. I sit up quickly. "He's not an asshole. We just had a fight." I mutter. My eyes bulge out of my head and I rush to the bathroom and throw up. She holds my hair back.
Jason's pov
I get back on the tour. Tully and Rich are a little late but we get to Kansas in time. "Hey y'all how are you doing on this fine summer night?" We break into big green tractor then I sing a cover of Cole Swindell's Hey y'all. "Wanna rock with us tonight, hey y'all damn right!" I sing the rest of the set list then go backstage. A few missed calls from my mom and one surprisingly from Miranda. I call back but she doesn't answer. Oh well I'll try again later, I hit the bar.
Miranda's pov
I can't believe it. I'm pregnant!! I'm fucking pregnant!! I tried calling Jason but he won't pick up. Rachel hugs me while I cry. Then he calls me back. I jump up and answer it.
Jason's pov
"Sorry I missed your call, I was onstage." "I-It's okay." She whimpers, holding back the fact she's crying. "Darlin' what's wrong?" I ask, worried. I go to my bedroom on the bus. "Where are you?" "In Kansas. On tour." I reply. "I.... I'm... I need you." I can't just leave the tour. But my girl needs me. "Okay. I'll be there in a few hours. We're driving back now." "Ok, good." I get off the phone. "Turn this thing around at the next red light. My baby needs me." Jake my driver let's out a long sigh. "Please man, I need you to do this for me!" "Dude I could get in serious trouble with Mike." "I don't give a damn about what he thinks. Jake if you were ever my friend you'd do this for me." "Ok. But you owe me big." "Anything."
*a few hours later*
I get back to Nashville. "Where are you baby?" I ask, calling her again. "Rachel's house." She gives me directions and I drive over like a daredevil on speed. She's waiting out front, tears in her eyes and her hands in tight fists. "Baby girl, what's wrong?" I gasp, jumping out and running to her. "I.... I'm...." But she can't stop crying. "It's okay baby take your time." I walk her inside and Sierra jumps in my arms. "Mama is gonna have a baby!" She cries. My eyes go wide, my hands falling to my sides. "W-What?" I gape, shakily. "Mommy's gonna have another baby. She is pegnint." She says. I set Sierra down. "Miranda, are you pregnant?" I ask, trying to stay calm but my voice is shaking and high. She can't get a word out so she just nods. Wow I didn't see this coming. "Well, what are we doing about this?" Rachel comes over, helping her sit down. "She's been through hell. Let her calm down first!" She gripes. I can't wait! I have the tour to get back to. I walk outside, so badly unsure and freaking out. I pace the front porch with a lit cigarette in my hand. I take a long drag then the door opens. I flick it over my shoulder then turn around. "Really?" Damn she saw me. "Sorry hun, I'm stressed out right now. I smoke when I'm stressed." "Well I want to get your opinion, but I'd like to keep the baby." "Sure I love the idea but what does this mean for us?" She meets my eyes, tears filling them. "What does this mean?" She asks my question right back. I shakily walk over and hold her hand. "If you don't mind giving an old cowboy another chance I'd love to have a baby with you." "I think I can do that." She says, smiling. Tears come to my eyes. "Oh thank you baby, I promise you won't regret it. I missed you so much!" I hug her tightly and kiss her lips, instantly she melts in my arms. I thought I lost my chances with her but now she's back in my arms.
