Jason's pov

It's Sierra's birthday today and I got her her very own guitar and I'll teach her to play it of course. Maybe we can even be a daddy daughter duo. Something I couldn't do with my girls. They didn't take to it at all. Miranda brought her cake and I lit the candle with my lighter. I stare at the lighter. I only use it for things like this. I've officially kicked cigarettes. I don't even crave them anymore. I can even be around the guys while they're smoking and I still don't want one. After the cake, I brought over the present. She opened it and her eyes got huge. "Just for me?" She whispers, looking up at me. "Yep, I'll teach you how and then we can play together." She hugs me tight.

*later*

I was teaching her the chords and she was getting the hang of it pretty quick and easy. "Hey Jason, your phone's ringing!" Miranda calls. "Just take a message. I'm busy!" I call back. "It's Keely she says it's important!" Uh oh. That's never good. "I'll be right back darlin'." I walk out to the kitchen and get the phone. I take a deep breath hoping and praying it isn't what I'm afraid it is. "Daddy, you there?" "Yeah sweetheart I'm here." "I've got some news." I wait for her to go on. "I'm uh getting married. My boyfriend proposed to me!" She's crying happy tears now. "Isn't this amazing!?" "Y-Yeah um I'm so proud. I can't wait!" Tears are in my eyes as well. We talk a little then I go back to the bedroom to work on Sierra's lesson. I was afraid she was gonna say she was getting deployed again. "Ugh, I'm much too young to feel this damn old." I mutter, opening the door. She was drawing. The crayons all having been used. I smile. "What ya got there?" "It's us. See, mommy's holding the new baby and you're holding my hand and we're feeding horses!" "I think we should show mama." I pick her up and take her to the kitchen where Miranda was making cookies. "Ya wanna lick the bowl?" She asks. Sierra takes the spoon and I show her the picture. She hangs it on the refrigerator. "I learned so much from a three year old." She says, watching Sierra. I smile. "Enough to write a song about?" I ask. "Huh? What do you mean by that?" "I wrote a song. It's called three year old. I get my guitar and play the tune. "Use every crayon color that you've got, a fishing pole sinks faster than a tackle box, nothin' turns the day around like lickin' a mixin' bowl. Yeah I learned that from a three year old."

*a few minutes later*

They're both listening intently now. "You can be a cowboy on the moon, dig to China with a spoon, talk to Jesus on the phone, say I love you all day long and when you're wrong you should just say so, yeah I learned that from a three year old. Yeah honey I learned that from our three..... Year.... Old." I lower the guitar and Miranda hugs me. "That was beautiful." I hold her hand. "I love you." I say, kissing her. "I love you too." Sierra jumps on a stool and hugs us too. I pick her up. "I love you too little girl." She laughs. "We're saying I love you all day long. Just like in your song!" I can't help but laugh. "Yeah we sure are." She finishes making cookies and we all eat cookies until I can't eat any more. "I'll put Sierra to bed." Miranda says, picking her up. She's already half asleep. She hugs me and goes to bed. My girl comes out a second later. "Keely is getting married." I say. "Oh wow really! This is cool!" I stop her from talking. "She's not the only one getting married." She looks confused, making me smile. "Who else?" "Well if you say yes, you will." I stand up off the couch and pull out the diamond ring I've had for a week. "Baby girl, will you marry me?" "Oh my gosh!! Jason yes!" She jumps up and hugs me tight. "I love you all day long." I whisper, holding her tight.
