Miranda's pov
I pull my long brown hair back in a pony tail watching Jason perform in his show. "Go chase my dream and keep the girl!" He finishes his set and walks backstage. I've totally kicked cancer and I'm so glad. I hug him. "I think we have a date tonight." He says, playing with a loose strand of my hair. "Luke's got the kids. He kisses me softly, handing his guitar off to someone and wrapping his arms around my waist. "I can always count on that crazy dancing Georgia boy." "And I can always count on my cowboy hat wearin' loving cowboy." He smiles and picks me up bridal style.

Jason's pov
Sierra just got back from a date with Tate. I was making dinner for Miranda and Bryson. "Hey dad, I'm not thirty and you aren't dead." I roll my eyes. "You're in trouble young lady." I tease back. She sits down at the table, a worried look suddenly crosses her face but it's gone almost instantly and I wonder for a second if I imagined it. "Sierra you alright?" "I found something the other day. It really confused me." "What is it?" I ask, sitting across from her. She pulls an old faded photograph out of her pocket. "I know it's of me and mom but the man in the picture isn't you." Oh the picture of the girls and James. I thought she knew. "Sierra, you do know I'm not your real dad right?" Shock crosses her face. She didn't know that?! I thought she knew. "Sweetheart, you were two when I met you and your mom on the streets of Nashville. You don't remember that?" "Not really." Man. "But it doesn't matter, I am your dad and you'll always be my little girl you know that right?" "Y-Yeah. So what happened to him?" "I... Um... A burglar killed him."
Sierra's pov
Wow. I didn't see that coming. This is a lot to take in. Dad stares at me worriedly. "Are you okay Sierra?" I shakily nod. "I.... Yeah this is just hard to.... I think I'm gonna go lay down." He hugs me. "I'm here if ya need to talk." "Ok thanks dad. Love you." "I love you too princess." I go up to my room. I get my phone and text Tate about it. I don't get a reply though so I just go to bed.
Jason's pov
All this time I thought she knew. I go upstairs to our room. Miranda was reading. "Hey hun, um did you know Sierra didn't know I wasn't her real dad?" "Oh jeez. She was too young to remember. Either way, you're a great father." "Yeah but she found a picture of you, her, and James. And it totally freaked her out." "Oh well there's nothing we can do. We can't change it." I wish I was her real dad. I turn the light off and try to go to sleep.
*the next day*
I pour a cup of coffee and jump in surprise seeing Luke asleep on the couch. "Uh.... Dude?" I poke him. "Oh hey, sorry man. I didn't wanna wake you." "What happened?" "Me and Caroline are fighting again." He mutters. I sigh and hand him a cup of coffee. I can't keep this secret to myself anymore. I know she won't stop screwing my buddy over. "Luke, you need to leave her ass." "What? Come on man, I know we're fighting but-" "She's cheating on you man." He drops the cup. "Wait.... What?" "Some guy. I saw it once and she said she'd stop but I know she didn't." "Damn man, I can't believe it!" "Sorry buddy." He glances back at the stairs. "Sierra's asleep right?" I laugh. "Sierra's at school dummy." He rolls his eyes. "Listen, man. Tate said he loved her last night. We were talking. He said Sierra was the girl he wants to marry. He also said he wanted to talk to you about asking for your blessing!" My jaw drops. "Whoa really?!" He nods smiling. This is unbelievable. Tate wants to marry my little Sierra. Ugh she's growing up too fast. I can't wait for Tate to come over for "the talk."
