Sierra's pov

I walk into school and a boy with blonde hair runs over and steals my glasses. My hands are shaking in anger. "Give them back!" I shout, reaching for them but he holds them over my head. I jump up, trying to reach them. He laughs and shoves me to the ground. Tears filling my eyes, my elbows bleeding. "Leave her alone, Asher!!" I hear someone shout. I look over. It's Tate! Asher laughs and pokes him in the chest. "What are you gonna do if I don't toothpick?" He teases. "This!" He shouts kicking him in the boyhood. He snatches my glasses back and hands them to me. "Thanks." I choke out. He smiles. "You're welcome, Sierra."

*after school*

Jason's pov

Sierra comes in from school and drops her backpack by the door. I lay out a snack for her but she pushes it away. "Darlin' what's wrong?" I ask, pulling her chin up. "Nothing." She lies. "Well how was school?" She bursts into tears. My eyes go wide. I pick up my six year old and carry her to the living room. "Baby girl, tell daddy what's the matter?" "A mean boy keeps on stealing my glasses and making fun of me for them!" She whimpers, crying. She takes her glasses off and throws them across the room. I hug her tightly and pick the glasses back up. "What do I do? He won't leave me alone!" "Have you told a teacher?" I ask, kneeling down in front of her. She shakes her head. I fix her hair and put her glasses back on her. "Don't listen to those bullies. You are a beautiful little girl and your glasses make you look even cuter. And if they won't leave you alone, you punch him!" She laughs. "Daddy, you're silly. I can't punch a boy!" "Oh sure you can. Just give him a good right hook." I say, making the motion. She laughs again. "Tate helped me. He kicked him in the boyhood." She says, making me smile. "Ya want a snack?" She nods and we go to the kitchen and eat a snack.

Miranda's pov

I get home with Bryson and Jason kisses my cheek. "How is he?" He asks. "Just a virus. He'll be better soon." I reply tiredly. He takes Bryson and his medicine. "You're exhausted, baby, I've got the kids." "You sure?" He nods. "And I'll bring dinner up for you." "Oh Jason you're the best." I say, hugging him tightly. He cups my face in his hand. "A better man is who I am with you." He says, kissing me softly.

*later*

"Bryson is asleep now." Jason says, walking in. I sit up. He sits beside me. "Sierra is being bullied." I'm suddenly alert and jumping out of bed. "Where are they?! I'll kill them?!" I yell. He chuckles and grabs my elbow. "Relax cowgirl. I handled it." I sit back down. "It seems like you're doing everything lately." I mumble laying my head on his arm. He pats my head. "That's okay. I don't mind."

*the next day*

Sierra's pov

I get to school and Tate is waiting for me. I smile and walk over to him. "Hey Tate." I say, waving. "Thanks for yesterday." He holds my hand. "I'll keep you safe. I'll punch the bullies in the nose if they cross the line. No one messes with my girl!" His cheeks flame red. I smile and kiss his cheek. He smiles too. I remember dad's warning. I'm not thirty and he's not dead but I still like Tate. Boys aren't icky anymore. We walk into class holding hands then Asher grabs his hair and throws him to the ground. "Lay off him!" I yell, angrily. My hands clenched into fists. "Shut up four eyes!" He snaps, shoving me. Punch him. Right hook! I remember watching dad yesterday. "Hey Asher!" He turns around. "Go suck a lemon, you wet blanket!" I yelp, right hooking him. He falls against the wall, staring at me shocked. "Ya want a piece of me?" I growl. He shakes his head and runs out of the room. Tate hugs me. "That was so cool!" "My dad taught me."

*after school*

Jason's pov

Sierra runs in screaming daddy. "Be quiet, your brother's sleeping!" I gasp. She hugs me. "I did it!" I stare at her confused. "Did what?" "I right hooked him. Now he won't be able to hurt me!" I'm shocked. But proud. "Yeah I knew you could do it." I say, patting her head. I hug her and get her something to eat. "You're an Aldean and Aldeans don't let people hurt them." She smiles. "I love you daddy." I kiss her head. "I love you too baby girl."
