Miranda's pov
It's Christmas Eve and Jason's got a surprise for Sierra. "What are you planning?" I ask him. "Now if I told, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore." He says, smiling. "But-" "No buts Missy." He says, kissing my forehead. I hate not knowing stuff. I go to the kitchen to make cookies for 'Santa.' Sierra sits on the stool beside me. "Santa's coming this year?" She asks. I nod and pour a glass of milk. "You better go up to bed." I reply, picking her up. She kisses my cheek and I walk out to the living room. We put the cookies out for Santa and Jason kisses her goodnight. "So now will you tell me?" "Nope. You'll find out tonight." He pats my head. "I wanna know." I whine. He smiles. "Not now." I laugh when he tickles me.
*later that night*
Sierra jumps up on my stomach, waking me up. I rub the sleep from my eyes. "What are you doing crazy girl?" I gasp. "Santa's here!" She cries in a whisper. What the? I follow her confused to the hallway. Sure enough, someone dressed like Santa is in the living room. I stare at him confused then he turns around. Jason! This is the surprise. "It's Santa mama!" She gasps in awe making me smile. She's bubbling with excitement. "Santa is real, mama!" I nod. "Of course he is, but you have to go back to sleep." She nods watching him for a few more seconds then goes to her room. "That was the surprise I'm guessing?" I ask, smiling and crossing my arms. He pulls the fake beard down and nods. "Cool huh?" "That was awesome!" I gasp, hugging him. He chuckles. "I did it for the girls all the time when they were kids." He says, sadness in his eyes. He wishes Keely could have made it home for Christmas. I hold his hands and kiss his lips. "She'll be home before ya know it." "Yeah I just miss her is all." "She's a brave girl."
*the next day*
Jason's pov
I get Sierra to eat breakfast before we get Miranda up to do presents. "I saw mama kissing Santa Claus last night." She says catching me by surprise. I thought she went back to bed before that. "I'll have to have a talk with her now won't I?" She laughs. "Ooh mama's in trouble." We both laugh.
*later*
Sierra plays with her toys and Kendyl comes to visit. It only makes me think of Keely and how she's still in Iraq. Oh well there's nothing I can do. "Well guess what dad?" Kendyl says, hugging me. "What's up, sweetheart?" She looks super excited. "Daddy." I instantly spin around, hearing the sound of Keely's voice. "My gosh! You made it home!" I gasp, hugging her. "I just got in last night. Surprise." She says. "I'm so glad both my girls are here. Well all three of my girls." Sierra gets on the couch and jumps on my back. "Oh Keely Kendyl this is Sierra your new sister and this is Miranda, my girlfriend." After they get to know each other, we all go out to cracker barrel for lunch. "Merry Christmas." The server says. I smile. I love this downhome country resturaunt. It was a wonderful and very merry Christmas. Keely was home from Iraq. Kendyl could visit and everyone was happy.
