4: Preparations and (Almost) Confrontations

Michael POV

I stepped out of the shower and started to dry myself off.

I wonder what Jase's deal was earlier.

Don't think about that, you have a hot date with a gorgeous redhead.

But Jase is your best friend Mike. Kind of a dick move if you're just ignoring something you KNOW isn't right.

God dammit conscience Mikey. Can I just finish getting ready? It'll only take me 10 minutes.

Fine. But once you finish, you confront her.

Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, I don't wanna go on a date thinking about that.

You're right. Maybe after the date. Hopefully it won't take that long.

I hope it does.

She's a really nice girl! Why can't you just be happy for me?

I'm talking to myself again.

I walk out of the bathroom and pass Jase's room, noticing the door is cracked open just a little bit.

Hey, that sounds familiar.

WAIT A MINUTE...

"JASE! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" I barge in, screaming and holding my towel up from falling.

Gee, that would be embarrassing.

"God dammit Mikey! Put some clothes on and then talk to me!" She screamed back, looking away.

I trudged out of her room and into my room, throwing my towel on the floor and walking to the closet after grabbing some boxers.

What do I wear?

...

"JASE."

"WHAT?!"

"WHAT DO I WEAR?!"

"YOUR BLACK SKINNIES AND A PLAID SHIRT."

I reach for my Black ripped skinnies when I hear-

"NOT THE ONES WITH HOLES IN THEM. IT'S A DATE, NOT A SHOW."

I groan and I put them back, grabbing one of my normal pair of black skinnies and look at my plaid shirts.

Which one?

"RED OR BLUE?!"

...

"BLUE."

"THANKS JASE."

"SHUT UP."

I chuckle and start cloth myself.

I stumble back into Jase's room, and she's still listening to that familiar acoustic tune.

Sounds shitty.

Of course it does, it's a demo.

"Where did you get that?" I inquire, raising an eyebrow.

She turned over to me with a big grin and replied with, "Cal."

God dammit Calum. That was gonna be my present for her 17th Birthday.

Well it's ruined now.

I simply nodded and walked back to my room and texted Cat.
