What does saying goodbye feel like? Saying goodbye is a strong expression filled with sorrow and dread. You are left with that utter emptiness which engulfs your soul and takes over every bit of your being. Seeing her walk away from you or you turning around and walking away from her. Every single particle of your existence yearns to run to her or turn around and go back to her but you can't. You can't as you know its for the best and you just have to endure that's all. As you turn around and start to walk away, a single tear rolls down the side of your face, setting your cheek aflame as you realize your not just saying goodbye to her but also so a substantial part of yourself which she still holds captured and you'll never be able to get back again. As you walk away knowing she has your heart and will for quite some time more the pain that follows such an action feels like she's actually holding your heart in her hands and the further you walk away the more severe that earth shattering, painful, heartbreak becomes as you literally feel the tugging in your chest as your heart is being ripped out alive. Each step becoming more and more unbearable yet going back or turning around is not an option. Seconds pass but they feel like hours as you lose all sense of time as your main focus is to push yourself on and not look back. As that one single tear now turns into an seeming unendless stream as you remember all the things you shared with her, the love you shared with her, that feeling of pure an absolute bliss when with her. Where invincibility seems like a mere understatement as to how she made you feel... Eventually the hurt becomes too much to bare and you can't do it anymore and you give in by turning around back to her and then instantly wishing you never did. As she's no longer standing there anymore and now you're left as the one standing and watching her walk away from you and you know that unlike you, she won't be turning around and without having to look down or even up towards the sky, you can actually feel the earth beneath you give in and the sky above you come crashing down in shards never to be the same again. You find yourself brought down to your knees wishing and begging death to just come do what it does best and take you away but it never does. It never ever does. That's what goodbye feels like.
